Sorry everyone.  I've never slacked this hard on the blog before, even when I'm not running.  I usually have something to say.  But this week has been BUSY!  I finally got a run in this morning.  I'm in San Diego for a business convention.  It was kind of smoggy out this morning.  And it was dark, so I took it nice and easy.  Garmin accompanied me so I wouldn't get lost, but I couldn't have got lost if I wanted to.  I stayed on the same street as the motel.  I ran 7 miles and felt pretty good.  I then soaked my running clothes in the sink with some detergent while I took a shower.  Then I wringed them out and lined them along the edge of the bath tub so they would dry.  After all day I came back and they were still soaking wet!  I mean I was literally wringing more water out of them.  They may have been even more wet!  What the heck?  Don't things dry in San Diego?

Nice consistent splits. I've only been in San Diego once--I didn't run on that trip. i'll have to keep your advice about being careful of the humidity in mind.

San Diego sounds heavenly right now!! :)

From SlowJoe on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 01:19:05 from 109.70.68.174

Business convention huh? That's exactly what I would use as my excuse too. Way to get out there and run inbetween whatever it is you're really doing.

From Burt on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 01:33:01 from 72.223.84.236

Kevin - Other than the smog, it was incredibly nice out. Hard to believe it was the middle of December.

Teena - as beautiful as it was there's a lot of crazies there.

From Burt on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 01:33:46 from 72.223.84.236

Joe - I'm serious. You gotta believe me.

From SlowJoe on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 01:36:51 from 109.70.68.174

I suppose just this once. Good to have you back on the blog.

From PRE on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 11:26:15 from 204.60.75.185

Hi Burt,

Nice miles on Saturday. I am taking it totally easy with running...Soon I will be preparing for 5/1/10 Marathon...so my fellow bloggers probably feel like I am a total slacker because I am putting in like ten mile weeks currently!!! Not really much of a running effort there. But I will be blogging more soon.

From Burt on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 11:27:40 from 206.19.214.144

Awesome PRE!

San Diego is a great place to visis. You're not in the desert any more Burt. It takes a while for thing to dry.

From runningafterbabies on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 14:32:36 from 24.10.211.135

That was so thoughtful of you to ward off the stink! Sorry your clothes didn't dry. Does the hotel have a dryer?

From The Quiet Pirate on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 14:59:58 from 152.26.59.252

Sounds like San Diego is a bit like the South. I didn't think it was a humid place, but I guess being there on the coast means lots of moisture.

OR MAYBE the cleaning lady was so impressed with how you looked in your sweaty clothes, and she wanted more of the "wet look," so she drenched your clothes while you were out being a conventioneer all day.

It's just a theory.

From Burt on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 15:29:41 from 206.19.214.144

Rhett - but would you want to live there?

Melody - What stink? I smell like chocolate peach roses.

QP - I had that same theory. Curse those motel maids!

From Rhett on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 15:44:38 from 216.67.221.93

Nope, San Diego is too crazy for me. I've found out that I enjoy the quiet life of a smaller town.

From flatlander on Mon, Dec 13, 2010 at 20:25:58 from 198.207.244.102

Nice job, hope your convention went well.

Nothing dries in So. Cal.

I haven't looked at your bloggy blog in quite some time. I needed to get my Burt fill.

From Burt on Tue, Dec 14, 2010 at 01:46:27 from 72.223.84.236

Sorry Lily. I haven't got on your blog either. Well, I've read it, but haven't commented. I'll get on that soon.

From DonGardinero on Tue, Dec 14, 2010 at 01:57:32 from 152.216.7.5

Welcome back, slacker.

I love San Diego, but the humidity ruins my hair.

From seeaprilrun on Tue, Dec 14, 2010 at 08:00:07 from 68.103.254.222

I lived in a San Diego suburb-Poway, for a year. I don't recall it being smoggy until you got closer to L.A. It sure rained a lot though. I'm impressed that you washed your running clothes. I am gross and just let them dry and put them back on the next day if I am running alone. I am polite enough to wear clean running clothes for accompanied runs.

From Burt on Tue, Dec 14, 2010 at 10:38:48 from 72.223.84.236

DG - LOL!

April - LOL again!

From Chad on Tue, Dec 14, 2010 at 11:14:42 from 168.177.153.5

You should probably just run in your wet clothes. They will be soaked in the first 5 minutes of your run anyway. Unfortunately, we've all seen how you sweat.
