I finally had a run this morning that didn't feel too miserable.  I was out running by 5:30am.  The sun was just barely coming up when I finished.  I braved to run along the streets.  I saw two other runners.  One lady was wearing a Ragnar shirt.  I told her I liked her shirt.  Other than that, it was kind of boring.  So let me tell you some more boring things about my run on Saturday.  As I was running down hill one of the cyclists gave me a hoo-ah!  Thank you for thinking I was a marine.  Also, I saw some sort of animal scat all over the place.  I did not know from what kind of animal it was.  I wish I was better versed in the science of animal scat.  You'd think I would be.  I thought about taking a picture and posting it on the blog to see if anyone else knew what type of animal it came from, but then I thought, "even I'm not THAT gross.  Quiet Pirate, maybe.  But not me."

Send me a private e-mail, I'm actually pretty good at that sort of thing.

So that's why they call you Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.

From allie on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 02:14:41 from 97.126.215.90

do you know how many people talk about scatting all over the place in their race reports? or even on their daily runs?

if you are allowed to mention (and in many cases give details) of your PAS experiences, you are allowed to post photos of animal scat. i personally would like to know what color it was. bonnie's animals have hot pink scat.

I like stories about PAS, but I have never P'edAS. I've always been able to hold it in; a testament to my masculinity. It was tan. Yes, tannish.

From allie on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 09:56:02 from 97.126.215.90

proud to be PAS free.

that's my bumper sticker.

From Tara on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:07:04 from 75.169.141.214

It was a praying mantis scat. Nothing to be feared, Burt.

From SlowJoe on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:14:46 from 168.215.171.129

Nice miles, Burt. I have no idea what Allie is talking about. Poop, I mean scat, comments have no place on this blog. Clean it up.

From Burt on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:15:52 from 71.216.109.214

Tara - you better start praying. Praying that you don't get GC for running during GC.

SlowJoe - got some baby wipes?

From allie on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:17:03 from 97.126.215.90

burt, she'll be done running before GC starts.

From Tara on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:27:47 from 75.169.141.214

I'll be way done before George Clooney gets gonorrhea and chlamydia. Although I hear it comes on fast.

I have no idea what the entire conversation is about. I just laugh anyway because I can always count on it being good.

From Burt on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:29:05 from 71.216.109.214

Give me your number and I'll text you what everything means.

From allie on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:33:00 from 97.126.215.90

the only thing you need to know to piece everything together: PAS = pop a squat = stop wherever you are running and scat. sasha calls them VPBs (virtual private bathrooms).

i maintain that i am a PAS/VPB-free runner.

From Burt on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:36:12 from 71.216.109.214

...and now she's not going to give me her number!!

allie, I really want to believe you. I do.

1-800-pupe bag? I'm not falling for that.

From Burt on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 10:51:35 from 71.216.109.214

I did fall for it and I got the National Domestic Hotline!!! Oh well, at least I won't have to put up with getting abused by my wife anymore.

From Tara on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 12:32:04 from 75.169.141.214

Yeah, and it's also a National Stalking Hotline. I also have an alternate numbe, if you need that one too.

From The Quiet Pirate on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 13:04:51 from 152.26.230.54

The only thing about this blog that makes me sad is that I didn't see it earlier. Keep up the good work, Burt. You're not just a scallywag, you're a scatywag.

From Burt on Thu, Oct 03, 2013 at 15:47:32 from 71.216.109.214

I don't know if I should feel flattered or splattered.
