Sad day.  Burt's losing his Ernie.  His Miss Daisy.  His snot rocket, loogie hocking, phlegm hacking little buddy.  Just kidding :) MD is moving to San Diego tomorrow, so today is the last day we had to run together.  We were both feeling sore, so we did three really slow miles.  We saw some geese flying over head honking away.  We talked about the move and making new friends.  It was fun having a running buddy for a few months.

Time - 28:44 (avg. pace 9:35)

Splits - 9:59, 9:29, 9:17

Here's a picture up at Buffalo Park where Bonnie was running with the elites.

This is my BFF from HS Jon on the right.  allie, do you love my shoes?

Here I am running in Lake Havasu City.

 Hello!

**************************************************************************************************

Day 45 P90X - Back and Biceps/Ab Ripper X - I'm half way there!  There are two moves that I struggle with most in Ab Ripper X; Fifer Scissors and Mason Twists.  Today I was finally able to do both of them without stopping.  Woo hoo!

I hate losing running pals! They really make running SO much easier and the miles fly by.

Good luck in San Diego MD!

Nice work on the miles, I'm assuming you'll have some p90X to report later? :)

From Burt on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 10:32:33 from 68.225.214.248

Right you are RAD. But hey, I think you commented before I posted my pictures.

From jun on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 10:40:50 from 97.126.237.166

So many thoughts running through my head. I don't know where to start.

What year did you graduate from high school?

From Burt on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 10:48:50 from 68.225.214.248

Kingman Bulldogs. 92! 92! 92!

From allie on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 11:14:34 from 174.23.182.80

i love your shoes. i really do! i also used to high jump in HS, but the pics i have are not as obscene. do you remember if you cleared on this one? the jump looks good.

also, did you and your BFF ever arm wrestle?

From beef on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 11:26:27 from 72.73.65.34

Fantastic photos. They make me want to triple jump again!

From Burt on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 12:24:58 from 206.19.214.144

allie - I knew you would love them :) I'm pretty sure I cleared this one. It was either 5'6" or 5'8". The highest I could do was 5'10". As for arm wrestling Jon, no I don't think so. But we partnered up on everything. We used to put on these harnesses and run while someone holds you back. He would totally drag me like the action figure at the beginning of Napoleon Dynamite, and I could barely move him at all. In fact, I think he let me move him because he felt sorry for me.

beef - I never triple jumped, but I did long jump a couple of times. I sucked. Every single jump I ever did was between 15'0" and 15'3". Every jump! I just couldn't get any better.

From RAD on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 14:03:19 from 67.172.229.125

hehehe - I certainly did comment before the pics, I was ON it today!

I am proud to say that you'd still have to jump a couple inches higher to clear me! :) I did high jump in Jr High...twice. Got 2nd place in the district meet, I think because I was a good foot taller than the rest of the kids competing.

From Burt on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 14:34:46 from 206.19.214.144

I could jump you RAD...in a dark alley! Of course you'd probably kick my butt, but I'd get the first sucker punch in.

No way Burt, it that really you?

From Burt on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 17:37:57 from 206.19.214.144

I know. What happened to me?

From Bonnie on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 17:42:38 from 128.196.228.134

Those are SO awesome Burt!!!

So sorry Arizona is losing MarathonDreamer, our loss is California's gain!

Great pictures, you have changed a lot since high school, for the better of course. Never could high jump.

From Lily on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 14:46:34 from 67.199.181.73

I actually like your black and red shoes! Where can I get some!

From Britta on Fri, Aug 20, 2010 at 00:16:13 from 99.120.43.3

Congrats on the not stopping with your hard moves. Nice shorts!!

From Burt on Fri, Aug 20, 2010 at 01:09:33 from 68.225.214.248

Bonnie - Does that look like Buffalo Park? I'm pretty sure it is.

Flat - I weighed 165 when I graduated. I was proud of my weight gain after my mission. Then it got out of control. :P

Lily - Funny story. I was so poor growing up that I never could afford nice shoes. We always got Trax from Payless. My dad had a pair of shoes for basketball that I thought were really cool. I always said, "When I grow up, I'm going to get me some Pro Wings just like my dad." Anyway, even if we could afford to get nice shoes, my dad would be against it because why pay more when a pair of Trax or Pro Wings works just as well? Wrong! So I had to save up some money and order a pair of shoes out of a catalog that my friend had my junior year. I gave his mom the money and she used her credit card. I felt guilty, but at least I was sporting some nice Nike waffle racers with green soles. My dad finally broke down and bought me the black and red ones my senior year. I loved those shoes. Even when I retired them I hung them from my ceiling until I left on my mission.

Britta - Spandex had just gotten popular when I was in high school, but I wasn't in to them. :)

From Bonnie on Fri, Aug 20, 2010 at 12:04:25 from 64.119.33.134

That is definitely Buffalo Park -- although it looks like you guys are running it in the opposite direction than I usually do ... I like the shoes too. We did not have payless when I was in high school. K-mart was the place to get cheap shoes ... they were really ugly.

From Marathon Dreamer on Sat, Aug 21, 2010 at 10:51:57 from 69.63.212.182

Aww... Burt... I'll always be your Ernie!! ;-) I will miss running with you too... but I will be seeing you again soon!! By the way, love the high jump picture... were you arrested afterwards for indecent exposure? LOL!!
