These 20 miles were my backpacking miles over the course of the 4 days that I spent at Havasupai.  It really is a beautiful place.  Aqua green water.  Breathtaking falls.  Lots of people with Ragnar shirts.  The only part I didn't like was when I almost drowned and the painful blisters on the balls of my feet.  Oh how they hurt.  I don't think I'll be running anytime soon.  Maybe I'll post pictures later.

Wow, lots going on with you lately, so much to comment on. First I want to hear more about you almost drowning, I'll definitely have something to say there.

Congrats to your wife on 60#!

Well, I'm not a very good swimmer, and I tried to go behind the falls like everyone else. I got stuck and had to wave for help. If I was all alone, I'd be a goner right now.

yikes! Sounds fun other than that though.

I've always wanted to do Havasupai falls...jealous. Not of the near drowning though, but I'm sure that is what would happen to me!

Glad you didn't drown. That would have really sucked.

From Burt on Mon, Jul 02, 2012 at 11:54:27 from 72.223.80.161

April - I need to come up with new material.

RAD - You are RADSwimmingblog.com now. It wouldn't happen to you :)

I went on a Boy Scout trip there a long time ago, still remember how beautiful it was. Glad to see nothing has changed, and glad you are OK.

From Burt on Thu, Jul 05, 2012 at 07:55:36 from 72.223.80.161

Flat - were you a scout or a leader? Because if you were a scout, that must have been a looooong time ago.

From flatlander on Thu, Jul 05, 2012 at 09:27:04 from 198.207.244.102

Yes sir. Summer of 1968. Before hippies. Before Burt.

Havasupai is beautiful. I want to go there. Just a few weeks ago a 15 year old scout, grandson of someone in our ward, drown there when he eiter tried to go under the waterfall, or just got too close and was sucked under. He was a good swimmer too. I'm glad to hear you're ok.

From Burt on Fri, Jul 06, 2012 at 16:39:56 from 72.223.80.161

I heard about that, too, Julie. You can believe that was going through my mind as I was stuck over there. And a million other things.

From DaleG on Fri, Jul 06, 2012 at 20:11:01 from 152.216.3.5

You're a survivor, Burt. Glad to hear you weren't alone while you were stuck.

From Burt on Fri, Jul 06, 2012 at 20:49:44 from 174.254.17.199

Thanks DaleG.
