What is up with this cold weather?  When it's 7:30am and the sun is up and I'm in Arizona and I can see my breath (is this a run-on sentence?), it just ain't right.  Nonetheless, I was stilll wearing my muscle man tank top, as opposed to my spaghetti strap.  Again, I felt good.  I wasn't trying to get out of my comfort zone, but I was pushing it.  I was trying to stay nice and steady so I wouldn't strain anything.  Even still, it was a pretty good pace for me.  I must be getting faster.  Hey, this blog is working.

Time - 23:43 (avg. pace 7:55)

Splits - 8:03, 7:58, 7:44

Do you have a little black spaghetti strap dress that you run in when it's warm enough?

From KP on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 11:16:52 from 65.208.22.25

At the Rocket City Marathon (Huntsville, AL) this year, I for real saw a girl that ran the entire race in a white, halter top dress. Ummmm.... weird! I don't see how she did it!

From Burt on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 11:23:18 from 206.19.214.144

Of course Carolyn. Do you even have to ask.

KristEn - my secret is body glue.

Good run, I can never get going that fast in the morning. The cold has got to go. I almost pondered thinking about considering to possibly mull over trying sweat pants this morning instead of shorts. I was that close.

Way to resist temptation Joe.

From Rob Murphy on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 12:55:35 from 205.127.70.66

Hey Burt, saw your comment on my new blog. Congrats on your recent marathon finish.

From Burt on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 13:01:50 from 206.19.214.144

Thanks Rob. I didn't have any miles in the 20 minute range, but a couple were dang close. Happy training!

My debate is whether to wear the boxer briefs or the thong.

From ChrisM on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 15:21:01 from 86.151.220.223

I like it when the splits are always faster than the last one

From TBarlow on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 15:24:12 from 216.194.124.36

Wow - that must have been a sight! Nice run!

From Burt on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 16:07:09 from 206.19.214.144

Wes - there's more overall chafing with boxers and more concentrated chafing with the thong. Pick your poison.

Chris - that usually happens when you go uphill and come back down...but I wasn't, so it was nice. :)

Toby - you should see me in my high heels. LOL! Okay, okay. A brand new blogger commented on this thread, and he's going to think I'm a total weirdo fruitcake. Sorry Rob. You caught me on one of those days that I'm in rare form.

From baldnspicy on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 17:03:18 from 72.77.113.184

Burt - true, but does the speed factor outweigh the chafing discomfort?

From flatlander on Fri, Feb 12, 2010 at 19:30:04 from 76.31.26.153

Rob, it's always like this. Get out while you can.

From Teena Marie on Sat, Feb 13, 2010 at 17:33:01 from 174.52.45.85

Hmmmm ... muscle man tank versus spaghetti straps??? That must've been a tough call.

Any pics?

(Very nice run!)

From ChrisM on Sat, Feb 13, 2010 at 17:40:06 from 86.151.220.223

The common misconception is that the extra chaffing as a result of a wearing the thong is a negative factor compared to the boxers.

In fact, the extra concentrated chaffing acts as an incentive to run faster to finish the run (and the agony of the chaffing) earlier.

From baldnspicy on Sun, Feb 14, 2010 at 01:09:08 from 72.77.113.184

True, Chris. But, you save a ton on Body Glide if you're only protecting a smaller area.

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Sun, Feb 14, 2010 at 16:34:45 from 90.195.99.188
