I think ChrisM's theory of universal expansion is correct.

Time -  44:01 (avg. pace 7:55)

Splits - 8:12, 6:50, 8:11, 7:10, 8:45, 4:54 for 0.57 (8:40 pace)

Two more miles under 7:15, Brent.  I deserve major commando points today since you dissed me the other day.

Going Commando Burt?

From Burt on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 11:54:28 from 206.19.214.144

Thanks Joe and Vinh. I'm not 100% healthy right now, but I'm running better than ever.

Missy - wow! you really now how to read between the lines.

From flatlander on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 12:53:37 from 198.207.244.102

You got lots of speed, good job.

WOW!!! You rocked that run Burt!!!

From Burt on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 14:20:20 from 206.19.214.144

FL - thanks. I haven't weighed myself recently, but I'm probably down 20 lbs. this year already.

RAB - You're so mean. I kill you!

MD - That run rocked me.

From seeaprilrun on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 16:12:23 from 205.172.12.229

wow Burt wish I could assign you some commando points for that 6:50 mile but I don't have hardly any:(

From TBarlow on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 16:47:24 from 216.194.124.36

Great times Burt!

From Kelli on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 17:05:07 from 71.219.89.82

Nice speedy miles!!!!

Are you running Del Sol next weekend? Same legs?

From Burt on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 17:48:55 from 206.19.214.144

April - sorry :( I don't have a whole lot either. But there is a reason why I put that word in bold, and Missy nailed it.

Toby - thanks!

Kelli - I am doing Del Sol. I'm in van #1 this time. I've got the hardest leg. Well, I assigned myself the longest, but then they changed the course, so there's one set of legs longer than mine in van #2. I really wanted to be in van #1 this year, and luckily we have stronger runners than me that can do the 22+ miles.

From Steve Piccolo on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 17:51:34 from 128.187.0.178

Wowsers!

From Kelli on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 17:53:39 from 71.219.89.82

So, how many miles do you have to do?

From Burt on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 18:04:48 from 206.19.214.144

21.2 miles :)

From RivertonPaul on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 19:01:37 from 67.42.27.114

Nice job. No commando points, though. Instead, in honor of the Olympics I'll give you a bismuth medal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bismuth.

(Notice "Bismuth subsalicylate (the active ingredient in Pepto-Bismol and (modern) Kaopectate) is used as an antidiarrheal and to treat some other gastro-intestinal diseases (oligodynamic effect)."

From Burt on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 19:34:36 from 206.19.214.144

Woo hoo! Bismuth! I will wear it proudly around my neck and hope the radioactivity has no negative effects on my heartbeat.

From Brent on Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 23:17:17 from 76.8.201.223

Burt - major commando points - if you want to run fast - run fast - sweet - 200 commando points - major commando points come with consistency in training - no dissing or kissing - play it again sam in a couple of days -

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 05:44:48 from 78.32.130.9

Ha ha I thought that Missy, going Commando great minds think alike eh! :) p.s great run Burt, those 2 fast miles were your feet on fire :-)

From runningafterbabies on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 10:54:00 from 67.177.9.74

I was just trying to help you be mentally strong. Did they freeze any for you?

From Merri on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 12:13:50 from 160.7.252.148

Have you ever tried running commando? that might make you faster?

From Merri on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 12:14:08 from 160.7.252.148

Or is that what Brent means?

From Rhett on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 12:19:04 from 74.32.219.217

Running commando would definitely not make you faster!

From Burt on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 13:44:52 from 206.19.214.144

Okay. Because I have such close confidence with all of you, I'll tell the whole story. Remember that time I ran home from work and had to do it commando? http://burt-mccumber.fastrunningblog.com/blog--Another-run-home-from-work-nbsp-This/10-29-2009.html So I didn't have any clean underwear yesterday, and yes, I went commando. I didn't think it would be a problem because I'd done it before. Well, the first time I didn't run as fast, and it wasn't as cold. I haven't been in as much pain after a run as I was yesterday. And that includes my marathon. There. I said it. Are you happy?

From montelepsy on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 14:30:50 from 64.235.121.163

I'm only authorized to award desk jockey points, but you get a couple for that story.

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 15:10:01 from 90.201.147.80

Sorry for your Pain Burt but that just makes me LOL ;-)

From Kelli on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 15:32:46 from 71.219.89.82

Thanks for SHARING!!!!!!

From Lyman on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 15:58:33 from 170.135.241.45

Great speed Burt! Apparently running comando has nothing to do with it...

From Rhett on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 16:01:13 from 74.32.219.217

Thanks for the laugh Burt.

From Merri on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 16:25:37 from 160.7.252.148

well that would explain why RUN2DAY "doesn't check his email often" but it doesn't explain why he would run the loop you usually run backwards...

From Burt on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 16:38:29 from 206.19.214.144

Or does it, Merri?

I am glad that Brent doesn't just dole his commando points out so easily. I've seen him give quadruple digits to people who have major PR's in marathons. So a couple of sub 7:15's from a former clydesdale is nothing. If anything, running commando should cause me to give up my commando points.

From Merri on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 16:44:16 from 160.7.252.148

at least we know you and brittney spears would be good friends.

From Burt on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 16:50:54 from 206.19.214.144

We are. I do her hair all the time.

From Merri on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 17:08:48 from 160.7.252.148

that's right wasn't that you who shaved her head the night she went crazy and hit the paparazzi with an umbrella?

From Merri on Fri, Feb 19, 2010 at 17:09:21 from 160.7.252.148

And I think we all know who she wrote "womanizer" after...
