This morning I thought my boy was going to be late for the bus.  So I had him hop on his sister's bike while I ran next to him.  We got to the bus stop and nobody was there.  Usually there's a pack of kids and parents.  So I ran 0.3 miles to the end of the block and then back.  By that time a few more kids had arrived.  Then the rest of them showed up, and AJ had a good time showing off his freshly shaved head.  I shaved him bald last night.  After the bus came I attempted to mount the bike and ride home.  It was kind of awkward.  Then Johnny-Come-Lately almost ran me over trying to get there before the bus left.  Haha.  Didn't make it.  When I got home I ran my neighborhood loop giving me just over four miles total.

Time - 30:59 (avg. pace 7:43)

Splits -

1 mile - 6:55

2 mile - 8:05

3 mile - 8:05

4 mile - 7:50

So were you riding a pretty pink bike with a nice little basket on front? That would be a little awkward.

LOL. Not quite.

Nice pace Burt. You are FAST!!

SO, we decided against Del Sol, bummer. First, we have no babysitter (my sister now works so she can not keep the kids for those two days) and second, we decided we need to all of the Ragnars and we have already done that one. However, we really want to do an Ultra and it will be Del Sol, just not in 2010.

So, are you signed up? AND what exactly IS the right thing to say?

From Burt on Tue, Oct 20, 2009 at 13:52:50 from 68.76.197.194

Kelli - that is a bummer. Only because I won't be able to give you more brownies. I'm signed up. I don't think our team will be nearly as fast as it was last year, but that's ok. It will be fun anyway. I don't know what the right thing to say is. I just used to say that on your blog all the time, so I figured I should do it again. :)

I am kind of bummed about it, too. I liked Del Sol and I really liked your brownies! And it is on my birthday again....

Burt, was you split times on the bike or running? Nice to see you out cranking them up. Onions, onions, too much is not good. Relays are fun, would look to do another some time.

Sam - Only I can make a full grown man riding on a girly bike look good.

Brent - Those were all running miles. I like to keep my mileage pure. I didn't even put in my 8 walking miles on Saturday.
