I'm not sure on the exact distance since I forgot my Garmin at home.  And I won't be able to trace it out on MapMyRun because I have no idea which way we went.  But I met up with my Ragnar team this evening.  Well, only half of us showed up, but that's a great showing for a Ragnar team get together.  We went to Las Sendas in Northeast Mesa.  It's a rich man's community.  One of my first jobs in civil engineering was doing single family residence custom lot grading and drainage plans.  I probably did about 20 of them for this area.

I saw another former Ragnar teammate before we started.  He was with his buddy.  I told them this was my new Ragnar team and we are Running 4 Nie.  His buddy knew about Nie Nie.  I didn't know how far everyone wanted to run.  I thought maybe three or four.  Turns out they were all pretty hardcore and wanted to run 8.  I haven't ran that far in a dog's age.  But I needed to.

It was about 7:45 when we started, but it was as hot as an oven.  I drank a little water before and figured I'd better save some for when I was done.  We all started running, but everyone was running at their own pace, so I stuck with a girl that was running in the middle.  She was glad I did because she was getting a side stitch and I helped push her through it.  There were some nice mild hills which I hope is good Wasatch Back training.

The highlight of the evening was after we were done and talking in the parking lot.  A field mouse ran out from under my truck right towards two of the girls.  They screamed.

I don't read Nie Nie very often, are they doing a race or something for her? Let me know!

From Burt on Fri, Jun 11, 2010 at 11:49:33 from 206.19.214.144

Sam - They were like, "It's kinda cute." Then it charged them again, and they screamed again!

Hi Chizel! We are doing the Ragnar Wasatch Back race and Ragnar is donating our entrance fee to the Nie Recovery Fund.

I can't help but laugh when girls get the heebie jeebies.

Chad - you finally put a picture up! And now that you have you should probably take it down, if you know what I mean. LOL!!! I'm thinking of the SNL skit where the new guy at the office is being shown around and the boss tells him to try and relax and fit in, so he starts teasing everyone, and they're all just a little too uncomfortable because it's too soon....aaaahhhhhh...it was a good one. Seriously though, cute kid.

Thanks Chris!
