I got up and knew I needed to run.  Mostly because someone on the blog who shall remain nameless [Tara Summers] thinks I'm a loser and need to step it up a notch.  Did I mention I got up at noon and I live in the Phoenix Metropolitan area?  Well, it was only 79º, but it felt like 85º.  I took a water with me and sipped on it every quarter mile.  I ran real slow, as usual.  And I got a drink from the magic water fountain.  The lungs weren't as congested as last time, but still a little bit.  Now to spend time with Abby who just turned 7 before I have to go back to work.

Gotta love that blanket of warm air. It's down in Texas too.

From Burt on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 15:06:55 from 72.223.93.158

I've learned not to mess with Texas.

From RAD on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 15:40:19 from 98.202.23.178

See, it was the magic water!

Nice job not being a pansy and running in the heat and getting good miles too.

From Merri on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 15:52:59 from 160.7.252.148

go Abby it was just your birthday. party like it was just your birthday.

From Burt on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 16:00:41 from 72.223.93.158

RAD - no doubt. Even though the magic water fountain is 2.5 miles into my run. I'm sure it got me the last 0.5 miles home safely.

Merri - uh, my daughter doesn't party.

From Merri on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 16:06:41 from 160.7.252.148

why? her old man is too mean?

From Chad Robinson on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 16:08:22 from 50.73.39.89

Hey! No one backs Abby into a corner!

From Burt on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 16:22:12 from 72.223.93.158

Merri - it's just that I'd rather have her par-tay.

Chad - you're like the wind, through my tree. You ride the night next to me.

From Bec on Thu, Mar 15, 2012 at 17:18:18 from 68.206.133.141

I like magic fountains. There is one on my run too next to the rec. center. I usually end up going into the cool rec to get a cool sip.

From Tara on Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 11:12:12 from 159.212.71.17

Who ever challenged you to get out deserves an award. Recognition, not confidentiality. You get a poem for getting out today.

His name is Burt who's part of the blog, but lately he's sat on a log. Today he ran to prove he can.

The majic fountain has been his friend, majical healing it can lend.

He gets up at noon, but Burt always runs to his own toon.

On any given day, he'll give a grammar lesson, but what he really needs is a therapy session!

He's an friend to most 'cause the others are just toast!

Happy running Burt:)

From The Quiet Pirate on Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 12:39:32 from 152.26.59.252

Happy late birthday to Abby, happy 3 mile run to the magic fountain to Burt! Nice to have you blogging again.

From Burt on Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 14:01:00 from 72.223.93.158

Bec - my magic fountain is magic because when you press the button, the cover magically opens.

Tara - try highlighting in between the brackets. Click and drag between the [ ]. That was the sweetest poem anyone has ever written for me. But my therapist told me not to point out the spelling errors.

QP - I'll let Abby know she just got her first birthday wish from a pirate.

From Tara on Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 22:26:45 from 75.169.153.34

I planted a few spelling errors in there for you and you didn't take the bait!!! Magic, toon to name a few.... I thought I was funny:) Looks like you're making improvements!

From Tara on Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 22:36:53 from 75.169.153.34

Btw, I'm glad you were discreet. I don't want my name out there. I sill prefer Tara Winters. Ha my vt companion's last name is Winters. Sister Summers and Sister Winters:)

From DaleG on Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 22:59:53 from 152.216.11.5

Good job, Burt

From Burt on Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 23:13:08 from 174.240.195.56

Tara - I may have let majic and toon go, but I well not let discreet go! I'm so glad the Relief Society entrusts you with visiting teaching responsibilities.

Dale - thanks. But now I'm starting to feel the crunchy knee syndrome.

From DaleG on Fri, Mar 16, 2012 at 23:19:45 from 152.216.11.5

Not good, not good at all.

From Tara on Sat, Mar 17, 2012 at 08:01:58 from 75.169.153.34

Ha! Not so dIScReEEeT after all! Crunchy knees sound bad. Take it down a notch.

From julieesplin on Sat, Mar 17, 2012 at 10:11:05 from 75.169.177.149

You'll bounce back Burt. Loved the poem Tara!

From Burt on Sat, Mar 17, 2012 at 15:16:53 from 72.223.93.158

Julie - I'll bounce back because I'm nice and round now.

From PRE on Sat, Mar 17, 2012 at 16:38:11 from 99.50.213.11

Now?

Good job getting out there again. Hope you are feeling better soon and looking forward to reading about some more of your runs.

From Dan on Sat, Mar 17, 2012 at 21:18:41 from 24.209.83.20

I love the 'White Font' - keep bouncing mate

From flatlander on Sun, Mar 18, 2012 at 07:49:01 from 12.189.1.16

Burt, glad you are getting out. I have been on the wrong end of it health-wise for the last week and I have total respect for how it feels. Not fun.

From Burt on Sun, Mar 18, 2012 at 16:43:22 from 72.223.93.158

PRE - Thanks. Look forward to some nice adventures instead of this boring stuff.

Dan - You know what I'm talking about! :)

Flat - Don't get fat like me.

From ACorn on Mon, Mar 19, 2012 at 15:21:15 from 68.66.168.22

I prefer not to say "fat", women in particular find the term very offensive.

I use the euphemism "running fuel". For example, you could say, "Lately, I've been able to accumulate some execess "running fuel"." It sounds like an accomplishment that way.

I hope you're feeling better amigo!

From PRE on Mon, Mar 19, 2012 at 15:49:23 from 99.50.213.11

"running fuel." Not "Gu."

From anji on Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 12:14:47 from 174.27.169.175

From Burt on Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 15:24:39 from 72.223.93.158

Where the heck did you think I lived? In an alley? Behind your house? In the bushes?

From anji on Thu, Mar 22, 2012 at 13:56:51 from 159.212.71.17
