0.81 mile warm-up with Mary.  11:12 avg. pace.  I'm hoping she can maintain an 11 min. pace for her race.  Last year she did 13:20.  Below are my splits for the three miles I did alone.

Time: 23:52 (avg. pace 7:58)

Splits: 8:07, 8:02, 7:44 (first time I've done negative splits -EVER!)

Finish time: 7:30am

Temp: 41

It's the 12th today, and I've lost 12 lbs.  If my math is correct, that's a pound a day.  If I keep this up for two months, maybe I'll lose 60 lbs!

Weight: 210.00

From Burt on Mon, Jan 12, 2009 at 11:04:41

Thanks, Eric.

Man alive Burt!! That is AWESOME!!

A huge congratulations on your negative splits. Check out your pace for your last split ... so cool!!

Also, congrats on the weight loss. Very impressive.

Have a great day!

It's 2 seconds/mile faster for each lb you lose, theorectically at least. By May you'll be running 4 min/miles!

From montelepsy on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 05:40:33

Theoretically. My New Year's resolution is to learn to spell.

From Lucia on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 10:50:02

You're awesome Burton! Way to go on the weigh loss, but 60 lbs may be a bit too much for you, don't over-do it :)

From Michelle N. on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 11:00:57

Nice pace Burt! Are you pooped:) Nice weight loss also. You guys suck! You can drop weight like it's nothing but for us ladies it takes a miracle! Way to go.

From Burt on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 11:10:02

Well, the last time I went on a hardcore diet for two months I lost 42 lbs. I don't think I'll lose nearly as much this time.

Mike, theorectically may be a word if you break it down, but it's probably blashpemous, so I won't go there.

From Burt on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 11:15:28

Wink wink, Michelle.

From kungfublonde on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 11:59:06

Hi Burt. I think me and my doughnuts found your 12 lbs :)

From montelepsy on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 12:33:39

Get your mind out of the gutter!

It's got to go somewhere, Rachel. That's basic physics. Conservation of mass.

From Marion on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 13:41:20

Funny Burt! Excellent loss- nice math :)

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 17:12:52

WOW!!! 12 pounds in 12 days, that is impressive. Of course, it is easy for a man to lose weight, as Michelle said. WAY TOO EASY!

Kidding, 12 pounds is awesome.

How old is this daughter that is running with you??

From Burt on Tue, Jan 13, 2009 at 17:56:36

Marion - I pride myself on my mathematical abilities.

Kelli - She's 11. Coincidentally, how in the world can you have a 16 year old? Aren't you like 26?

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 14:42:34

It is quite miraculous becasue I am actually only 19.

From Burt on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:45:44

That means you were only 3 years old when you married that old high priest husband of yours.
