Saturday I put my running clothes on and wore them all day without ever going for a run.  So this morning I put them back (without washing them) and went out and did the same three mile route I did on my last run.  The canal says it's not open for recreational use until March.  I hope that means for fishing.  I saw plenty of people running and riding bikes.  Maybe they have the same philosophy I do.  They have to catch me before they can prosecute me.  Did I just say cute me?  I probably shouldn't have that philosophy since I work for an irrigation district.  Anyway, runners are allowed to wear the same outfit again without washing it.  Right?  So today's run felt a lot better than last week's.  Faster pace, too.  When I was done my clothes smelled like wet dog.  But I think it has less to do with wearing it twice and more to do with the fact that I've had that particular pair of shorts since the beginning of time.

You're a hoot. My subCUTEaneous fat is jiggling due to the laughter. I think stinky clothes are an important line of defense for all runners. Mine send the message, "hey, I may not run faster than you, but the smell will kill you before you have a chance to mug me."

A pirate hook helps too.

I don't get it, but I also don't really know you either. That's okay though, I can see talent and effort all over this run. Good job getting out and getting it done, Burt!

I would never wear the same running clothes again without washing them. Unless all my other ones were dirty. Or unless they were the only ones I could find in the dark morning. Or if I really liked them. Or if they were conveniently wadded up on my floor in front of me. You're gross.

BTW, I found a solution to your 2014 goals.

QP - Sadly nobody's tried to mug me yet. Is it my clothes? Maybe I'll run without clothes and see if that works.

Tara - It's really nice to meet you. I hope we can be friends. But not best buddies or anything. I'm a big fan of Ab-hancer. I'm keeping them in business.

Joe - I've worn your dirty running clothes more times than I can count.

There's nothing quite like the smell of sweaty running clothes. When they are yours, they kinda smell good.

From Burt on Sun, Jan 12, 2014 at 17:59:26 from 184.98.222.140

You guys. It's not like I had run it, sweated in it, and then wore it again. I just wore it lounging around the house all day. :P
