My legs are even more sore than they were yesterday!  I just ran my regular route today, but it was a little more sunny because it was 10am.  I lost my job yesterday.  I could see the fish in the canal.  I stopped and got a drink at the water magic fountain.  I wonder if the water comes straight from the canal?

Geez that bums me out about your job! i suggest you substitute teach-not kidding! You would make a great teacher. There is always a need and there are lots of school districts. Burt sorry to hear about the job loss. My father-in-law is an electrical engineer nearing retirement. He's always worried Honeywell is going to find a way to lay him off before he can collect his pension. Damn CEO's are always looking at ways to save a buck or tweaking things so their stock continues to pay. Don't tell me they are sending your job to China! Good luck on the job hunt. Seriously, consider squirrel about the sub-teaching while looking around. Easy pay and the kids would love your personality.

I am so sorry to hear about your job. When you wrote "I could see the fish in the canal" I thought you were talking about your job, like "I could see the writing on the wall" etc. But when I read "I wonder if the water comes straight from the canal?" I thought, oh boy that's like a "class 1/2 empty comment," coming from Burt! Nothing seems quite as good when the necessities are on the line. I really hope thinks work out well for you quickly. Absolutely awful news Burt. I hope it wasn't a surprise at least. My wife and I have had a backup plan for a few years now if I happened to lose my job (it is scary being tied to the building industry). On the bright side, just think of all the running you can do now and the amount of quality time you can spend with your wife and kids. I wish the best for you.
