Time: 39:13 (8:02 avg. pace)

Splits:

1 mile - 8:01 - the first 1/2 mile it felt like my legs were really heavy.  Then for the next mile and a half it felt pretty good.

2 mile  - 7:51 this mile felt really good and was probably slightly downhill.

3 mile - 8:06 - right in here my legs felt really numb but I was still clicking along pretty good.

4 mile - 8:13 - the breeze stopped and I started to feel the effects of the sun.  Not too bad, though.

0.89 miles - 7:02 (7:56 avg.)  I was surprised that I was able to finish so strong and feel so good after my 11 mile run less than two days ago.

Finish time: 10:30am

Temp: 61

I like it when the sun comes out here. That because the it's only about 20 degrees before it comes out. Good run.

Hmmm....32 here and super flippin' windy! What is the deal???

Okay, here is a thought for you. I have decided you are amazing because you got a Garmin, but you still run these funky distances. How do you stop with such an "uneven" distance??? I jog around parking lots just to make my distance end with a .0 or .5 but not you! You have some kind of ability to not need EVEN. Why is that?

GREAT job today, Mr Speedy Burt. You really are a very fast runner. When are you going to do another half marathon so you can blow your old time out of the water? There is still room for you in my playroom if you want to come run the Riverton 1/2!!!

Look at me complaining about a slight breeze that's just the tiniest bit cool. What a baby I am.

Hey, Kelli. Maybe if I ever get my taxes done and get a big giant refund, I can afford to go up there. If not, I'll just stick to the local $20 5k's. :)

From Kelli on Sat, Mar 07, 2009 at 23:19:11 from 71.219.97.142

So, how do you run weird amounts and not freak out about it being even? You seem like an EVEN kind of guy!

From Burt on Sat, Mar 07, 2009 at 23:22:59 from 98.167.151.26

I usually run a certain route and stop at home. Sometimes I keep going to make it even, but sometimes I just like to stop. You know?

If you look at his 11 mile run entry from earlier this week, he had his wife drive beside him until he got to an even 11 miles, so he does have some of those tendencies. I'll bet at work he gets annoyed when someone leaves extra time on the microwave without hitting the clear button.

From Burt on Sat, Mar 07, 2009 at 23:24:47 from 98.167.151.26

Dude, that does bug me. I mean, come on. All you have to do is hit the clear button. It's not that hard!

From Kelli on Sat, Mar 07, 2009 at 23:28:16 from 71.219.97.142

I do NOT know. I can NOT stop. I run circles in parking lots, up and down my tiny street, around the park, whatever it takes to make it even. It is a disease.

From Kelli on Sat, Mar 07, 2009 at 23:29:06 from 71.219.97.142

Oh, and I leave my microwave sitting with seconds on it ALL of the time. That is OKAY.

I admire anyone who runs in

Arizona, although I bet the winters are a lot nicer than the freezing mornings in Utah. Good Job Burt, you are a speedster. It looks like right now you could blow a couple of your times out of the water!

Wow Burt. Your pace is dropping at an amazing pace.
