Yesterday I was waiting at work for my wife to bring my phone charger.  By the time she brought it, it was 4pm, and I was ready to go home.  So I left my bike there and went with her.  I was going to run back and get it last night, but I didn't.  I went this morning instead.  For the last two days I've seen the lady that dissed me on the high five.  But she does wave to me now.  So, that's progress.  I could feel a blister forming on one of the toes on my right foot.  It's gonna be a nice one.  The bike ride home was interesting.  2.58 miles in 12 minutes and 36 seconds.  That's a 4:54 pace.  Are you kidding me?  People can run marathons at a faster pace than it took me to ride a bike two and a half miles?  Geesh!

Time - 51:33 (avg. pace 8:45)

Splits - 8:32, 8:33, 8:42, 8:46, 8:52, 8:08 for 0.90 (9:05 pace)

Temp - 76°

I think that lady muust be a Spurs fan. She recognizes your inner thoughts about the Spurs and just can't bring herself to do the high five thing...!

From Lily on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:23:34 from 67.199.178.210

blisters no bueno! -You do understand english? It's not that complex.

From Burt on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:24:55 from 72.223.90.79

IJR - she's better keep that one to herself. I'd hate to have to break her knee caps.

Lily - the cafeteria is down the hall and to the right.

From I Just Run on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:27:03 from 67.79.11.242

Burt - you better watch out, she may know kung fu or something like that...

From Lily on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:27:14 from 67.199.178.210

LOL!

From I Just Run on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:31:29 from 67.79.11.242

Oh...BTW...Since she's a Spurs fan that means she's probably from Texas. You know all of us Texans are very friendly...She probably is just waving to be cordial.

From ChrisM on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 14:20:25 from 82.26.212.49

bad luck on the blister, mister.

this stretch might help your back a bit maybe, my physio recommended it when I had some problems with my back due to apparent hamstring tightness, even if it doesn't help your back it should help hamstring length http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3BwXOkbWCo

You need to put some glasses on that Bert.

From runningafterbabies on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 15:05:11 from 71.195.219.247

That is a creepy pic, Burt. He looks so much like you.

Give the lady another couple weeks, then she'll be the one initiating high fives.

From april27 on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 18:03:04 from 99.188.251.180

i'm scared of your pic. let me know when you take it down and I'll come visit again.

From I Just Run on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 18:16:55 from 67.79.11.242

I thought Burt's profile picture looked too much like a GQ guy to be real...Now we know what the real Burt looks like!

As Burt told me when I first got on the blog..."you can be anyone you want to be on the blog".

I wonder if this is what Ernie saw in Burt?

From Burt on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 19:40:49 from 72.223.90.79

Chris - Bill did some serious swiveling.

Funzo - they don't make contact lenses in my size.

Melody - I'm glad you like my picture. It's not even my good side.

April - It's down now.

IJR - I'm still GQ.

Chad - kee hee hee (that was my Ernie laugh.)

I knew you were a liar so I scrolled down really quick!

From PRE on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 22:02:18 from 99.50.214.225

Bike pace not the best, this is true. Probably best to stick with running.

Hope you and your family are doing well.

From Burt on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 22:30:15 from 72.223.90.79

April - PSYCHE!

PRE - It's really a piece of junk bike. But it gets me from point A to point B. And a guy offered to sell me a stolen one for $40 locked up at Del Taco.

From Brent on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 22:47:21 from 66.7.127.67

Burt, the bike pace would be quicker if you were not riding the little pink bike. Hey, she won't give you a high five, does not want a sweat shower or same treatment as the ant.

Nice run, Anty Burt, nice picture

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

From Steam8 on Sat, May 07, 2011 at 10:04:59 from 166.70.55.77

I love your posts...they always make me laugh...and your new picture! Oh my, I can't quit laughing Burt!

From seeaprilrun on Sat, May 07, 2011 at 14:31:41 from 174.70.177.86

Oh. My. That...picture. Nightmares tonight. I have the same thought every time I ride a bike..."Ryan Hall would be kicking my butt right now on foot..."

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, May 07, 2011 at 20:32:06 from 71.229.134.155

It's all been said.

From Daniel Brunson on Sun, May 08, 2011 at 12:40:38 from 98.184.136.74

Blisters suck. I felt them developing on the toes of both feet after this mornings run. Per Dean Karnazes: attend to them or rest a little now rather than be sidelined for longer if you ignore them.

From The Quiet Pirate on Sun, May 08, 2011 at 17:41:02 from 174.110.223.249

i see you're missing arms in your photo..that probably makes it harder to ride your bike. Just a guess.

Happy Mother's Day to your wife, who must be a saint.

From auntieem on Sun, May 08, 2011 at 21:17:47 from 67.182.149.104

Bike pace not so good, to be sure! But, you and I don't run marathons at anywhere near that pace, so it's all good, right?

From flatlander on Mon, May 09, 2011 at 10:53:18 from 76.31.26.153

That picture is seriously creative and creepy at the same time. You are very talented.

From Burt on Mon, May 09, 2011 at 12:11:27 from 72.223.90.79

I didn't make the picture. It's courtesy of Chad Robinson.
