AM Workout

I went for a 2 mile jog this morning because after doing day 3 of P90X last night I could hardly drag myself out of bed.  It felt good to run though.  And there was a nice drizzling rain.  The Garmin seems to be working fine.

Time - 17:44 (avg. pace 8:52)

Splits - 8:58, 8:46

I have a friend who has started running so that he can strenghten his muscles to start playing basketball again.  He's up to a couple of miles.  I was telling him how proud I was of him because it was quite an accomplishment for me to get up to that distance, but then I made the mistake of telling him that now I feel like anything under 3 miles is a waste of my time.  I don't think he's ever going to let me forget I said that.

PM Workout

Day 4 P90X - Yoga X

Okay, yoga was hard.  It's still for girls though.

Hey Burt you have become an Athlete then :-D

and I am so glad your Garmin is A OK :-)

From KP on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 16:47:17 from 65.208.22.26

I guess 99.99% of all my runs are a waste of time. Darn. I am a failure.

From Burt on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 16:52:35 from 206.19.214.144

Sam - I wouldn't go that far...

KP (notice what I called you?) - You're not a failure! You're a winner. And joining FRB is the first step in becoming a champion! You sure like that 99.99%. Everything to you is 99.99%. LOL!

From KP on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 16:54:35 from 65.208.22.26

I am trying to emphasize what a loser I am! DUH! If I had said merely 99% it doesn't seem as strong; I'm not quite as big of a loser then.

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 18:19:51 from 90.195.99.12

I would theres even a video about it LOL

Rhythmic gymnasts are not athletes!

From auntieem on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 18:48:44 from 24.17.177.218

Are cheerleaders athletes?

From Burt on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 19:06:44 from 206.19.214.144

http://burt-mccumber.fastrunningblog.com/blog--Last-night-my-left-calf-muscle-cramp/06-09-2009.html

Of course cheer leaders are athletes. Don't be silly.

From KP on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 19:15:06 from 198.200.158.140

Oh Burt... I've thought about adding my pic to the blog. But you definitely just made me change my mind. haha. WOW. You better find me on FB, otherwise no pic of KP.

From Marathon Dreamer on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 19:17:01 from 200.52.168.6

Hey Burt! P90X is amazing and tough!! I have it and like it.... thanks to that program I can do pushups really well and have gotten some great upper body strength from it...very challenging. Don't short yourself Burt!! I can't do all the dvd's because running has essentially taken over my life, but love the plyo and ab ripper dvd's... great workout no matter which dvd's you use!!!

From Burt on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 19:32:08 from 206.19.214.144

KP - Don't worry. I'll add your picture to the blog. LOL!

MD - I plan on sticking with the 90 day program. Right now I'm sooo sore. We'll see how I do.

From Marathon Dreamer on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 20:14:13 from 200.52.168.6

Burt - it' gonna totally kick your ass, but when you post a new picture on here when you are done with the next 90 days- I will be telling you that baywatch has nothin' on you!!!;-) Bring it!!! LOL!!!!

From ejrunner on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 21:58:09 from 69.228.201.205

Burt,

Thank you for your comment. I am surprised you did not do the AZ Rock N Roll isn't Queen Creek knocking around Phoenix? You are a very fast runner, keep it up!!!!

From Burt on Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 22:04:11 from 98.177.216.165

Thanks ejrunner. Queen Creek is pretty close to Phoenix, but I'm doing London's Run on the 30th.

From montelepsy on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 10:18:27 from 64.235.121.163

P90X! Cool beans, Burt! You can be my Sunday buddy!

From Brent on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 12:58:25 from 168.178.30.194

Burt, some runners should use duct tape? I once told joggers at work they were not real runners unless they could run 8 minute miles. Do you need some of my duct tape?

Brent - after doing that Yoga X last night, I feel a lot better.

From Lybi on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 14:16:42 from 70.190.199.29

I did yogaX last night for the first time, too. It is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS how hard some of those moves are. I actually feel MORE sore from the yoga workout than the shoulders and arms workout the day before...or maybe it is just d.o.m.s., either way, I feel your pain, and congrats on getting started!

From Burt on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 14:20:04 from 206.19.214.144

Thanks Lybi. I seriously couldn't do some of those balancing things, and I was getting frustrated. Then Tony Horton was like - don't get mad if you can't do this. Whatever. Na ma se to you.

From Merri on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 16:12:54 from 160.7.252.148

come now burt no running is ever a waste of time is it? :)

From Burt on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 16:17:12 from 206.19.214.144

Of course not. And of course as you can see, I only ran 2 miles here. It wasn't as much of a waste as I thought it might be.

From RivertonPaul on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 18:12:48 from 67.42.27.114

Did you take some nice revealing "before" pictures?

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 18:31:57 from 90.195.99.208

oh dear even I dont do yoga too girlie LOL

From Burt on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 18:37:35 from 206.19.214.144

I did Paul. But I couldn't let them get into the hands of all the scorned bloggers.

From vinh on Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 22:01:22 from 71.68.254.197

Lol, funny stuff. You need to record yourself next time doing yoga.

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Mon, Jan 25, 2010 at 07:37:38 from 78.32.130.9

I agree with Vinh, but scorned bloggers ?

From Burt on Mon, Jan 25, 2010 at 11:15:26 from 206.19.214.144

You know Sam, those seeking revenge on me.
