We had Ward Conference yesterday at church and the Stake President spoke on the importance of being physically fit.  Finally, religious advice I can take to heart!

This morning I tried to push it, but I'm not in very good shape anymore.  I saw two Volkswagen beetles driving right by each other.  One was red.  One was green.  I thought it was Christmas.

Did they have a buffet after the meeting with all the fixings? Maybe just light refreshments.....say ice cream and cookies....

From Burt on Mon, Aug 22, 2011 at 14:03:17 from 206.19.214.144

No, but someone had passed around a family relationship seminar flyer with a bowl of mini candy bars.

From Sue on Mon, Aug 22, 2011 at 14:19:08 from 63.248.41.148

I hate those mini candy bars in the bowls. I break my diet every time with those...then if I'm going down I might as well do it burning. Sounds like a good conference.

Whatever Mrs. Brownie for Breakfast.

Nice work out there Burt! Glad you were able to put your learning into action. Fast action if you ask me :)

From ACorn on Mon, Aug 22, 2011 at 19:32:55 from 68.66.168.22

I made my family disappear.

Nice run!

RAD - faith without works is dead.

allie - the Church is more true in Arizona. Really. Ask Rye how many modern day prophets were born in AZ and how many were born in ID.

ACorn - The salt turns the bodies into mummies.

From allie on Mon, Aug 22, 2011 at 20:22:46 from 161.38.218.168

3 April? My goodness, with as tiny as you are that should feed you for three days!

Almond Joys are the best. The three great tastes that taste great together.

I think your speed is good, too. And I bet it's still pretty hot down in your neck of the country! Yea, almond joys are pretty hard to resist . . .

From SlowJoe on Tue, Aug 23, 2011 at 10:44:43 from 132.3.53.68

Did you have anyone to punch when you saw the beetles? Statue of Liberty lady maybe?

From Burt on Tue, Aug 23, 2011 at 11:49:01 from 206.19.214.144

Cookie - We're in the middle of a heat advisory. Fun, fun.

Joe - Slug bug!!!

From julieesplin on Tue, Aug 23, 2011 at 17:29:28 from 75.169.165.244

That sounds like a talk my dad would have given when he was in the stake presidency, and I've eaten brownies for breakfast before too.

From Burt on Tue, Aug 23, 2011 at 18:01:13 from 206.19.214.144

Julie - my dad was a bishop and on the High Council, but he never made it into the stake presidency. I guess we don't have as much in common as we thought. lol! So, the reason he felt impressed to speak on physical fitness is because of what Pres. Monson said a couple of conferences ago. "We need many, many more senior couples." And the two big excuses for seniors not being able to serve missions is 1) obviously financial, and 2) health. He knew it would be a sensitive subject, so he made it very clear that he wasn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings.
