Today I went running with Bruce RUN2DAY for the first time.  He's quite a bit faster than me, but he stayed with me the whole time.  PF Chang's R&R is next weekend.  He's going to be the pacer for the 3:20 group.  Bruce is a teacher at Dobson High School.  He's over 50 and he is going to retire after this year.  We had a nice conversation about Ragnar, getting hit by cars, marathons, basically all things running.  It was enjoyable.

Time - 47:48 (avg. pace 8:37)

 Splits - 8:59, 8:25, 8:29, 8:30, 8:37,4:48 for 0.55 (8:44 pace)

Excellent to get to run with someone, nice of him not to run off!

And you told him to sign to the blog too, right??

From flatlander on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 09:32:44 from 70.216.49.233

Good run and good week. At first I thought he was a blogger, but when I clicked on the link I see he is somebody you found on the street? That's cool that you found somebody that fast that way, sounds like he knows a lot about running.

From Merri on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 11:17:02 from 160.7.252.148

I remember run2day. :) I think I passed him a couple times while I was wearing my surgical masks.

From Burt on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 11:26:09 from 206.19.214.144

Chris - are you crazy? after everything I've said about him? lol. The topic never came up. I just don't want to push it on him. It has to feel right.

Flat - He does know a lot. And I try to act like I do so I don't feel stupid by him. I'm a poser.

Merri - (cough) Stalker!

From Merri on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 11:36:29 from 160.7.252.148

no he was the stalker, that's why I had to move. don't ask him about it though, he gets a little emotional about it and he's not supposed to know where I moved to.

From Brent on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 13:19:06 from 76.8.201.223

Burt - your going to let a 50+er kick your butt - motivation for Noche Burt - run with him everyday, good way to get faster. When are you going to run with the road rage guy? *Note, a 3:20 marathon guy in the 50 to 54 div. will place in the top 10 (in his division) in most marathons, good runner to hook your bungee cord to.

Stay Kool, consistency, B of BS Rools out

From Camille on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 13:25:40 from 71.223.70.181

I hope i'm in good shape like that when I'm 50+. :o) Good run today after a long run.

From Burt on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 13:35:44 from 206.19.214.144

Brent - Strangely enough, road rage guy hasn't come knocking. I looked up Bruce on Athlinks. He's 54. Last month he paced the second half of the Tucson Marathon for the 3 hour group. In 2007 he ran PF Changs in 2:56.

Camille - I know a shape that suits you well.

From Camille on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 14:03:03 from 71.223.70.181

Okay Burt... and that shape is?

From Burt on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 15:46:52 from 206.19.214.144

Let's not open up old wounds Camille. No, let's. The shape is that of the agitated cream of milk in spherical form.

From TBarlow on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 16:09:09 from 216.194.124.36

It's always fun to talk running with someone who knows their stuff!

From Merri on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 16:13:26 from 160.7.252.148

That's why burt talks to me so much.

From Burt on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 16:33:36 from 206.19.214.144

When you say stuff, do you mean double stuffed oreos? That's what Merri and I talk about all the time.

From auntieem on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 18:02:53 from 24.17.177.218

Hey, being 50+ is great! I seriously love it.

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Fri, Jan 08, 2010 at 18:34:43 from 90.201.147.218
