My wife finally wore the shoes I got her to go walking.  She's lost 9 lbs so far on her diet, so maybe once she gets consistent at walking it will really start to come off.  We walked the girls to school, but when we got more than half way there we realized that my daughter left her new glasses at home.  So I ran back to get them.  I met them at the corner where the crosswalk guards are.  From there my wife continued around the block, and I went on my run.  I knew I was running at under an 8 min. pace to get the glasses and wanted to continue doing it for the first mile.  Just to make sure I could still do it.  It's been a while that I've even tried.  I made it and decided to try and maintain a 8 min. pace for another mile.  The second mile was a little slower than 8 min. but they averaged 8 min. exactly.  After that my left foot started to ache, so I ran the last mile slow.

Splits - 7:53, 8:07, 8:54, 0:21

Temp - 60 (We had a nice rain and thunderstorm last night.)

Nice run Burt! Way to push those miles then know when to back off. Do you have any races coming up?

From Burt on Wed, Oct 05, 2011 at 14:01:24 from 68.14.209.26

Dale - It's a little tender right now walking on it, but I think it will be fine. Just some fast mile soreness. I hope.

ACorn - I have the Las Vegas Ragnar coming up in 2.5 weeks. Can't wait!

Nice going today. Glad you got some cooler temps, you have probably suffered long enough. Probably.

Joe - I've been a good boy. Mother Nature owes me. Now if I can just make it through the winter and get in good with Santa.

Tara - I will. I will. :)

I feel like you didn't read my response to your post. I thought it was funny and that doesn't happen often. My husband and I laugh all the time when we think about that pic you posted with the cougar because everyone here will not stop talking about the scary cougars out there!

From Burt on Thu, Oct 06, 2011 at 18:55:45 from 72.223.91.148

That was a good pic. But are you making fun of me? I'm a tender little guy.
