It was 42° out, so I decided it would be okay to go with shorts and a short sleeved T.  I haven't run over 5 miles in forever.  In fact, it's been since Vegas Ragnar.  But I survived.  When I got home dinner was ready.  I decided to eat before I showered.  But I didn't have much of an appetite.  After nibbling on my chicken sandwich for a bit I got up to take a shower.  Then I started shaking uncontrollably.  I was soooo cold.

I feel bad for you. 42 is SO cold. Heck, you might want to NOT run until it is over 60 again, cold weather running, I've been told, is VERY bad for your health. Maybe you should get an electric blanket so that you can stop the shivering.

But, congrats either way on getting those five done!

Burt,

Congrats on the 5.42 miles. I hope you can keep that up!

From Burt on Wed, Jan 16, 2013 at 06:41:37 from 72.223.80.89

Thanks for feeling my pain RAD.

PRE - I hope so, but I did get a fever last night. I'm feeling better this morning except for a sore throat.

Wow, not just 5 miles, but 5.42 miles! You're the man. Seriously this time.

From Burt on Wed, Jan 16, 2013 at 12:29:19 from 71.216.109.214

Don't toy with me Tracy.

From SlowJoe on Wed, Jan 16, 2013 at 14:26:41 from 155.219.241.10

Hope you're feeling better after running in those horrendous conditions. You must have run your loop backwards again.

From Burt on Wed, Jan 16, 2013 at 16:30:25 from 71.216.109.214

I think you're right. I feel like absolute crud right now.

From seeaprilrun on Wed, Jan 16, 2013 at 18:29:51 from 68.102.189.33

I would run in shorts and short sleeves in 42 degrees too.

From Burt on Wed, Jan 16, 2013 at 22:10:56 from 72.223.80.89

You'd do it in 42 below!

From allie on Fri, Jan 18, 2013 at 07:27:32 from 161.38.221.168

rule #1: always shower FIRST THING, otherwise you will start shaking uncontrollably (or in my case -- white, lifeless fingers). in the event that you can't shower immediately (for example, you have to drive home), remove your sweaty clothes immediately. i do this 3-4 times per week. my windows aren't tinted.

From Burt on Fri, Jan 18, 2013 at 08:42:14 from 71.216.109.214

It's a wonder Utah hasn't kicked you out yet.

From allie on Fri, Jan 18, 2013 at 20:04:55 from 97.117.83.221

gah, i got pulled over on my way home and i had to "step outside of the vehicle" in my post-running attire. at least i was still wearing my boots.

it will probably be on the news, so...

Nice job on the 5 miler, Burt.

RAD must have forgotten you don't need a heated blanket when you're part man, part wookie. And as long as you've got your Chewbacca belt on, you can rest assured there won't be any troubles with the law when you get pulled over for speeding. "This is not the wookie you're looking for."

From Burt on Sat, Jan 19, 2013 at 22:05:58 from 72.223.80.89

Jealous of my hairy chest much?

From The Quiet Pirate on Sun, Jan 20, 2013 at 05:44:27 from 67.238.139.242

No, but thanks for asking. I have my own.

From Lily on Tue, Jan 22, 2013 at 11:13:06 from 67.199.178.95

Burt,

If you are feeling well, you are due for a run. Hope you get out for one. A nice easy six miler!

From Burt on Thu, Jan 24, 2013 at 22:17:35 from 72.223.80.89

PRE,

I have been sick this last week. Thanks.

Love,

Burt
