I went to Usery Pass again, but this time I had in mind that I would turn off at the three mile mark where there is a horse trail.  I really want to be ready for the McDowell Mountain Trail Ragnar this year, so I though I'd check out the trails.  The three miles up was nice and steady.  I only saw one cyclist out today.  Kinda weird.  I guess everyone must have jobs or something.  Then I got on the trail to go exploring.  Only it wasn't a trail.  It was a very sandy wash.  You people make your horses walk through this?  Mean!  So, I said to myself, "This is no fun.  Why don't I go try to climb that steep hill?  Bag a peak, as they say."  I changed my Runkeeper to hike mode.  Then I proceeded to go up this steep slippery hill.  It looked high from the bottom, but it wasn't that high.  I realized when it only took me 5 minutes to get to the top it just wasn't as high as I'd like to brag about.  Then I had to scoot on my butt to get down.  That wasn't fun.  From now on I'll stick to the road.  Enjoy the picture show.

On the way back down my right nipple started to bleed.  I noticed it right as I saw a lady cyclist coming up the hill.  So I lifted my shirt up and pretended like I was fanning myself because it was so hot.  I think she bought it.  Then I ran the rest of the way without a shirt. I saw three more cyclists and lots of ladies in bikinis at the tube rental.  While I did not take a picture of the ladies in bikinis, I did take a picture of my nipple.

Be proud of your bloody nipple. Next time, point it out to everyone you pass: "Hey, look, my nipple's bleeding! Look!"

I had the hardest time taking a nipple selfie. I was proud enough of it to send it to my wife.

Way to get another longer run in! Sorry about your bloody boob, thanks for not posting the pic.

Your bloody nipple photo looks a lot like a black bug with a wing. The other photos are great. Beautiful land you live in. Congrats on owning that hill top!

Burt, please clarify, is the last pic of your nipple? TQP has confused me.

From Burt on Fri, May 23, 2014 at 11:02:14 from 184.101.123.214

Tara - I'm not as cool as you and all your peak bagging as of late.

ACorn - not my nipple. I won't post my nipple because it's not as sexy as my parfait leg.

QP - That's a tarantula hawk. But my nipples do have the same sting.

Note to self: If I ever get to hug Burt; not too tight. Must avoid getting stung or bloodstained by his nipples.

I could cut glass with them.

Nice pics, makes me homesick. Is Usury Pass out toward Apache Junction?

From Burt on Tue, May 27, 2014 at 19:14:10 from 71.223.32.7

Yes, Flat. It's still in Mesa, but pretty close to AJ. The beginning of the Phoenix Marathon is on the other side of Usery Pass. I always run up the backside.

If I hear one smart alleck remark about my last comment...

Ah, you should have seen how fast I clicked on the link to the backside comment. Pretty disappointed when I saw the last one though. It's like you were speaking right to me. But I'll be back. I'll be back.

Oh, I was speaking right to you, Joe. And QP. Juvenile!
