I wanted to do a small recovery run so I took both Ginger and Cinnamon out.  Cinnamon is the new dog we got for Christmas.  Santa's elves brought her a couple of weeks early because it was so cold at the North Pole.  Well, she pretty much sucks at running.  Actually she finally got the hang of it on the way back.  But on the way out she was running in circles around me, jumping on Ginger, stopping.  Once I reached the canal I let go of Ginger's  leash because she's pretty well trained to stop on command.  Then Cinnamon wanted to run side by side with her.  Ginger stopped to poop once, but Cinammon was good.  Overall, I think she liked it.  And she didn't drop over dead which is another plus.

Next time you should run circles around the dog....But don't poop anywhere.

Dale, that is good!

Nice recovery Burt. You really hit Ragnar hard and deserve a good week of recovery so you can try and keep up with me next week :)

From Merri on Tue, Mar 01, 2011 at 18:35:07 from 160.7.252.148

for some reason I am craving cinnamon rolls now.

Dale - I can't just hold it in. That does massive internal damage.

Paul - I prefer the old fashion proven method; a rolled up newspaper.

RAD - You already have twice the number of miles on the year that I do.

Merri - maybe you're pregnant again.

From Merri on Tue, Mar 01, 2011 at 18:49:37 from 160.7.252.148

Nothing like traumatizing your kids like coming back from a run with a dead puppy...well, that and the awkward ragnar photos...

Thanks for the advice. I stretch well during and after my run because of the pain. I stretch a little before I run but should I stretch the calves more before I run?

From Burt on Sun, Mar 06, 2011 at 12:41:47 from 72.223.90.79

Leona - I usually stretch more before, but you don't want to stretch too much if the muscles are cold. So warm up by doing some jumping jacks, walking in place, or running in place for 1 to 2 minutes first.
