I saw a new old lady out this morning.  She's of Asian decent.  I saw her for the first time Monday.  She won't even look at me though.  But I tell her good morning nonetheless.  With about a mile to go I saw a young woman coming down one of the side roads.  I thought about being bad, slowing down, letting her catch up, and using the blade of grass trick on her.  But I opted to be good and just out run her.  Or maybe that is being bad.  Just mean I guess.  The point is, contrary to popular belief, I do prefer the younger woman to the older woman.  (Except I prefer my wife over them all.  (Somehow (I'm using triple parantheses) I don't think stating that is going to get me out of the trouble I just got in.))

The bike ride yesterday was just what I needed to get me loosened up again.  Even still the first three miles felt like I was dragging.  So did the last two, but I expect to be dragging at the end of my runs.  Anyway, I don't think I was running as slow as I thought I was.

Nice run! I glad you prefer your wife over all of them... hope you are not in too much trouble LOL

Love the old ladies. Good job.

Those are nice splits! How old is an old lady? I always thought I'd be one when I was 50, but now that I'm here, I find that I'm not at all old. Maybe its when you stop running LOL.

That's it Em. That is it. Or 70, whichever comes first. LOL!

Nice work

I am intrigued by the blade of grass trick, how does that work?

From Rhett on Wed, Aug 12, 2009 at 16:47:47 from 74.32.218.69

Maybe you should try giving the old Asian lady the high five.

From sam Dean-Howard on Wed, Aug 12, 2009 at 18:22:53 from 90.201.147.65

I agree with Rhett only once has someone tried to high five me when I'm running it was so funny and I was doing mile reps lol

Burt - biggest loser weigh in on the 15th, let me know the good or bad news. Blade of grass trick? Now, it sounds like you have fun on the run, give runners a high five or low five, tell them "looking good" when the look beat. Hello, Hello, Hello, - Keeping the run interesting.

I also greet people on my runs, especially on a trail where there's nobody else around, those people that just look straight ahead as if you didn't exist are so rude! How about a nod, or just a smile! A high five would be too much... yeah... I love seeing "old" men and "old" women running! There is an "old" lady I always see during my runs, she looks like maybe she had a stroke because she doesn't move one side of her body as well as the other... yet she keeps pushing and runs as much as she can, such determination makes me smile, a great motivator! So now you're counting old ladies and not prairie dogs???

From Burt on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 15:39:52 from 68.76.197.194

I did not see one prairie dog on my ride to work today. They must all be hunkering down for the storm.

From Rhett on Thu, Aug 13, 2009 at 16:12:40 from 74.32.218.69

Burt can and has pulled off the high 5 to a complete stranger while running. Nothing is "too much" for Burt.
