I ate two huge burritos last night.  And my back muscles are tight from swimming Saturday.  So I thought my run today would be blech.  But after I got going I felt pretty good.

Time - 44:16 (avg pace 8:18)

Splits -

1 mile - 8:13 - I saw the old lady that never looks at me.  But a lady walking a dog was walking right by her when I passed her.  So when I said good morning she was the only one I heard say it back.

2 mile - 8:11 - Passed the day laborers at Circle K.

3 mile - 8:23 - Through the Wal Mart parking lot.

4 mile - 8:28 - Saw a choo choo.

5 mile - 8:17 - I saw my boy's school bus and hoped he wouldn't miss it again today.

0.34 miles - 2:45 (8:07 pace) - No Otis to outrun.

Temp - 78 - Beautiful!

Nice pace, and maybe I'll have to try those 2 huge burritos as my pre race dinner this weekend if I can get those kind of results.

I don't know who told you burritos were bad before a run. They sure have a bad rap, but they work for me. I had a 10K race last year and stayed with friends on Mercer Island the night before. The meal that he made me was not what I would have planned at all: lots of meat and spices! But I felt and ran really great the next day, go figure.

When you pass the day laborers you should run right through the middle of them and go high five with both hands, like the rock star you are. Hmmmm, burritos.

For some reason I just noticed your buff calves in that pic, Burt.

Leandra - Burritos and root beer floats.

Em - Nobody told me they were bad. It's just that I felt so fat after eating them. LOL!

Rhett - I'm too afraid they belong to the drug cartel. But then, why would they need a day job?

Paul - I'm surprised you haven't noticed them before. They practically jump out of the picture.

Nice run there, Burt. Wish I could have run this morning, but we were up too late trying to get the baby down, so I settled for running during my lunch hour in 100-degree heat . . .
