I started running again in 2007 after 14 years of not running.

My legs didn't feel nearly as sore as they did yesterday.  I took a little longer to stretch out.  Maybe that helped.  All the sit-ups I've been doing lately have me feeling like I'm going to puke.  That gives me an idea for a scientific break-through in weight loss.  Eat as much as you want, then puke it up before it digests!  It could change the world!

Bicycle AM

Distance: 8.75 miles.  I got a flat and Mike Ambrosio picked me up.

This newspaper clipping is from 1991.  Here are the things you need to know about it:  1.  Look at my perfect running form coming across the finish line.  2.  Check out my genetically  huge calfs.  All McCumbers have them.  3.  Look at that mop on my head.  My hair was always so long in high school because I always had track or cross country practice after school and a meet on Saturday.  I wouldn't let my dad cut it because he would always buzz it.  4.  The sweet farmer tan.  No, that's not a problem with the film.  That's actually how white my legs were/are.  5.  See the mini van in the background?  I had to drive that to school every day.  I had to take all my brothers and sisters, their friends, and their friends' brothers and sisters to early morning seminary.  Thankfully my brother totalled our hideous 12 passenger van the year before.  6.  As you can see in the caption, I set the course record.  That record still stands today.  It doesn't matter that it hasn't been run since, what's important is that it still stands today!

Gu man, that green tire gu stuff! It is salvation for the biker. I think there is more gu in our tires than air at this point :)

Wow, cool newspaper clipping!! Thanks for your advice about running 6 days a week. I noticed that you seem to run 2 times a day...how do you fit that into your schedule?? Who do you run with? I need some motivated running friends like that! :)

Nice article! Very cool! the only records I set in high school were for the # of boys I kissed and the # of rules broken by any of my siblings. I hope my kids don't read your blog ;)

Have you heard of Janda sit-ups? They will make you puke. They take out your hip flexors from doing any of the work.

You have to tense your glutes and hamstrings, which deactivate your hip flexors and all you have left to sit up are your abs.

Have someone hold on to your calves without sitting on your feet. You don't want to hook your toes on anything because you'll end up using them for leverage and using your flexors. While they're holding your calves pull against them like you're doing a leg curl and squeeze your glutes, then try for a sit up.

It took me some time to play around with it before I got it.

3-5 reps, 3-5 sets and your abs are done.

Kelli - I never slept in. I must've been a strange kid, because for some reason I never missed a day reading my scriptures and saying my prayers as a senior. Wierd.

Court - You'll find that I'm not the best person to practice what Sasha preaches, but I'm trying. Mostly I run on my own, but hopefully I can start running with my Ragnar team in a few weeks on Saturday mornings.

Marion - Marion, Marion, Marion. That's all I'm going to say.

Mike - I'll have to try those. There was a time when my abs were as defined as my calfs. That was 60 lbs. ago.

Rachel - You should see the picture of me jumping over the high jump bar. Someone snapped it at just the right angle.

Camille - I will post the Napoleon picture, but I'll also post the Arnold picture.

Joe - I'm not sure I said any of those things I was quoted as saying. Kingman reporters like to embellish their livelihood.

Adam - I wrote his a little over 6 years ago. Scientists at Berkley are still researching it.
