I'm in Kingman. I wanted to go exploring out behind my mom's house to see what's on the other side of the hill. I also wanted to get in 10 miles. I got a little more, but probably would have been right on if I hadn't backtracked several times. I used to run out this way on a trail we called Slaughter House Canyon in high school. We stopped running it because some dirty men starting yelling obscenities at the girls on the CC team. But I don't think I was on the same path. It didn't look familiar and a couple times I had to blaze my own trail to get where I wanted to go. It was fun though. I saw more Eric Days then I could count. After a while I remembered how the KPD had to kill a bear that was trying to get into people's houses a couple of weeks ago. It was only a year old. I wondered if it had a brother and what the possibility of me running into it was with absolutely nobody knowing where I was. My overall average was 10:22. I'm surprised it was that fast with all the steep trails, rocks, and sand. This is the most miles I've run in a week since joining the blog.  My previous high was 26.8.  I feel pretty good, but I don't know how many I'll do next week.  Only time will tell.

Burt, nice run. AWESOME mileage this week, 40.91 !!! Should have round it off by running .09 more. You know how that bugs OCD folks like me to heck. :) WAY to run the "killer" hill. GOOD JOB! Keep it up.

Hey gals. Sorry about not running the extra little bit there. I was trying to get back because my wife wanted to do a girl's-night-out with my mom and sisters. It wasn't until I got inside and looked at the Garmin that I noticed I was so close to the 11 miles. But it was just by chance anyway that I was running an even integer this week. The first three days magically added up to 26.5 miles :)

Way to go, running through the rocks, sand, and lizards! I don't miss running in that AZ heat! I get thirsty just thinking about it.

I did have a bottle of water with me, but it was somewhat overcast. That really made it nice. Lots of lizards, no bears, a few jack rabbits, no snakes. Good times.

Nice job on the weekly mileage! That's way above your previous high.

I know. I feel pretty good. I was too lazy to run yesterday, but this morning's run felt great.
