At 8AM this morning my thermometer said it was 90° already.  I have to go in to work today, so I decided to run since nobody else will be here.  I hope.  Anyway, by the time I left at 9:40AM it was up to 95°.  But it felt nice.  Warm, like a mother's womb.

Time - 23:01 (avg. pace 8:58)

Distance - 2.57 miles

Splits - 9:02, 8:50, 5:10

Wish me luck on the way home!

**************************************************************************

I didn't leave work until after the sun was down, so that helped.  It was only 85°.

Time - 21:49 (avg. pace 8:33)

Distance - 2.55 miles

Splits - 8:29, 8:33, 4:58

I feel like such a wimp, only 80 degrees for me today. Probably 110 by the time you head home?

From julieesplin on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 15:46:48 from 75.169.177.203

As I recall, it was pretty wet in my mother's womb. You must have been sweating an awful lot.

From seeaprilrun on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 15:55:48 from 174.70.177.86

That's awesome in that heat. I don't know how you Arizona people do it!

From Burt on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 16:19:14 from 206.19.214.144

Mark - The forecast only calls for 100, but I don't know...

Julie - Ha! Well I took my shirt off and rinsed it out when I got to work. Then I hung it up to dry outside. Another reason why I hoped nobody else would be here.

April - That's how we do what we do.

From Chad Robinson on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 16:23:26 from 208.110.158.185

Nice job Burt! 20 miles for the week. Nice way to kick the single digit mile weeks trash. Stay cool.

From Burt on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 16:29:07 from 206.19.214.144

Thanks Chad. That single digits stuff has got to go. Looks like you commented on my blog while I was reading your race report. Nice speed today.

From allie on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 16:32:16 from 174.23.197.101

i was just finishing cleaning the building when you came in. you smelled awful.

From Chad Robinson on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 16:32:21 from 208.110.158.185

By the way you need to get your 2.57 mile to show up correctly.

From Burt on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 16:36:21 from 206.19.214.144

allie - then you'd better get back in here and clean up my mess.

Chad - I know. I'm waiting 'til I run home to enter the miles.

From The Quiet Pirate on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 17:52:34 from 174.110.223.249

Hot haughtness. Nice run. Glad you broke out into the double digits.

From runningafterbabies on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 18:01:26 from 71.195.219.247

I liked the pregnancy nod. Wombs rock!

From Rye on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 21:24:52 from 168.103.128.41

I am puzzled... how can anyone remember what their mothers womb felt like? I just remember the doctor slapping my arse real hard.

From Burt on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 21:44:20 from 206.19.214.144

QP - Some day it will triple digits. Or some week. Hopefully some month.

RAB - You rock!

Rye - He slapped the memory right out of you.

From Steam8 on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 21:53:13 from 166.70.55.77

OUCH! That is a bit hot! You are going to have to start running at 4 when Lily does!

From Burt on Sat, May 28, 2011 at 21:54:28 from 206.19.214.144

I can't run with Lily thanks to some stupid court order!

From SlowJoe on Sun, May 29, 2011 at 12:19:06 from 184.79.24.255

If you've gotta work on a Saturday, I'm glad that you can hang out there in your gym clothes. Maybe dry your sweat with some annoying coworker's keyboard.

From Burt on Sun, May 29, 2011 at 12:25:59 from 72.223.90.79

Every office has the annoying coworker. Mine actually came into my office once, lifted up his shirt, and started rubbing his nipples. He's so (hold on. I have to go barf.) disgusting!

From Bonnie on Sun, May 29, 2011 at 17:41:25 from 128.196.228.134

ha ha ha ha ... ok Burt, this blog entry totally cracked me up. Even though it was super hot yesterday, by the time I finished running I was not sweaty anymore, I just had a layer of salt all over me (seriously, I looked like a deer lick). Maybe you just need to run a little longer to get completely dehydrated ;-).

From Merri on Tue, May 31, 2011 at 10:48:23 from 160.7.252.148

all work & no play for Burt.

From Burt on Tue, May 31, 2011 at 10:53:49 from 72.223.90.79

Bonnie - That's a sweat level of 6 on my scale.

Merri - I'm all business.
