What a crazy week last week turned out to be.  I ended up working 'til 5 in the morning Thursday and Friday.  Saturday I spent all day preparing for our move in three weeks.  I got a lot done, so that's good.  It was nice to start this week out with a run.  Hopefully I won't follow the trend of the last few weeks, start out good, then peter out.

Time - 25:41 (avg. pace 8:34)

Splits - 8:26, 8:40, 8:35

Pu-pu-su challenge

barely 4 pull-ups

25 push-ups

100 sit-ups - instead of doing the isometric 2 count crunch, I thought I would save time and just do normal sit-ups.  I quickly realized how much it was working my quads.  I stopped at 100 because of the burn in my quads, but my fat belly felt fine.

I averaged in the low 8's today.  Not bad, but I felt like I was still holding way back.  My hammy's still very tight.  I think it's because I haven't been stretching properly.  Guess what song was going through my head this morning?

I was going to do my 3 mile neighborhood loop again, but when I saw one of the youngsters waiting for the ALA bus I decided to run to the next stop where my boy gets on and see if I could beat the bus there.  That didn't mean I sped up.  In fact I'm sure I slowed down.  But I did get there just as the last couple of kids were boarding.  I was surprised that my boy doesn't have a nice seat with his name on it at the front of the bus.

I saw Fat Slob with Little Dog today.  And I saw one of the desperate housewives with Tall Shaggy.  I did 4 regurlar pull-ups when I got home followed by three reverse close-grip pull-ups.  Maybe my next project will be to post a video of me doing pull-ups.

Time - 29:42 (avg. pace 8:45)

This morning my Garmin was off the charger and the little band that holds the straps together was taken off.  Emily got a hold of it.  I turned it on and started my warm-up.  It would not locate satelites.  I placed it on the ground in the open and let it cook some more. Still nothing.  Then I turned it off and turned it back on.  Nothing doing.  Has anybody had this problem?  After I took it off when I got back home it sounded a little wiggly inside.

The run was good.  Nice and slow.  It's warming up, but it's so beautiful out.  My hammy still won't let me run fast.  I don't want to take any time off from running but maybe I need to.  Nah.  I'll get fat.

Time - 49:16 (avg. pace 8:47)

Splits - I guess I'll have to ask Emily about this one...

Day 22 P90X - Yoga X

I kind of took a break from P90X for a couple of weeks.  I was getting a little soft.  I thought my daughters might enjoy doing yoga with me.  They enjoyed it for about 9 minutes.  Then it was too hard or too boring.  But they stuck with me to the 90 minute end.  Yes, Kelli, by then my heterosexuality had been severely compromised.

My Garmin's still not working.  I tried everything Melody suggested.  I even went to the Garmin website to update the software, and that didn't help.  Dog-gone-it!

So I have to stick with doing the loops that I know the distance.  The timer still works.  I ran my 3-mile neighborhood loop today.  As I was was about a quarter mile away from home I saw two Mexican girls and their dad walking to the bus stop.  Right away I guessed it was the girls that are bullying my daughter.  Last week as my wife was hauling all our kids and the neighborhood kids to school, one of the girls yelled the B word at the van.  After my wife dropped them all off she came back and confronted the girl.  She told her not to yell curse words anymore, and if she continues to bother our daughter, she would call the police.

My daughter was leaving out the door right when I got home.  I asked my other daughter what the girls looked like, and they confirmed it was them.  So I went back out to try and catch up with her.  I figured the dad was walking his girls to the bus stop because they had told him what happened.  Well, my daughter almost missed the bus and she had to run to catch it.  Then the dad of the girls crossed the road to the other bus stop with his other daughter.  I stood at the corner contemplating if I should go have a talk with him.  Then he looked at me and started staring at me.  So I waved at him.  Then he looked away.  I started to walk closer, but I didn't want to make a scene in front of everyone not knowing how he might react.  So I ran another mile around the block.  Any suggestions on what I should do?  Should I go to his house and ask him to have a talk with his daughters about bullying?

I was up pretty late last night.  I couldn't sleep after my P90X workout.  It was pretty intense and especially hard to do after a big dinner.  But I had no problem getting up this morning.  I ran the 3-mile neighborhood loop.  I saw so many people I knew.  I saw so many people I've named.  I'm really going to miss this place when I move in a couple of weeks.

Happy anniversary to me!  I'm a 2-year veteran of the Fast Running Blog now.  Woo-hoo!

I had a recovery run this morning, but I couldn't figure out what I was recovering from.  Then I remembered it was from the P90X Core Synergistics the other night.  Total body soreness.  That reminds me.  The other day when I did 100 fast sit-ups, I had some major chaffing in the crackal region.  I couldn't figure out why my butt burned so much that day.

Are the advertisements that show up on the blog catered toward the kind of internet surfing you do?  If it is, I'm in trouble because I'm staring at a girl in a green and blue beach outfit from a Build Your Own Bikini ad.

So last night I was laying on the side of the bed while my wife and I were reading allie's charming blog.  I must have been too close to the side as I was being supported by the chairs next to our bed.  Yep, the one I'm sitting in from my video.  I think my hip was sinking too low and really contorted my spine because when I went to get up, it hurt real bad.  I laid on the floor and tried to bicycle kicking with my legs to loosen it up.  It helped a little.  So instead of running this morning, I rode my bike to work.  I figure this is the last time I'll get to ride to work from Queen Creek.  My back feels better now.

We signed the lease on the new house we'll be renting soon this afternoon.  I had my wife bring me a change of clothes so I could be more comfortable on my ride home.  There was construction going on along Southern Ave. so I turned on a road that took me close to James W's house, who by the way commented earlier on this blog entry, so now may not even see this.  It turned out to be a lot flatter than the way I usually go.  35 total miles on the bike today.

There's a very good chance I won't be getting any running or P90X in this week.  It's moving week.  I'll be taking a load of junk with me every morning.  I'll just stick to push-ups, pull-ups, and sit-ups.  It's probably good that I work on those since I really don't want to be eating allie's, Nan's, or Sam's shorts.  Now I'm off to meet some Fitness Singles.

5 pull-ups this morning!  Woo hoo!  The last one might have had the Nan shuffle with it, but I'm still counting it.

I think we're covered on the van for Ragnar.  But now I need a place to crash in American Fork.  Toby?  Scott?

Three reasons why today was a great day:

1)  The Suns won.  Woot!  Woot!

2)  I met two more bloggers and wasn't murdered.

3)  My favorite professional wrestler stopped by.

Meeting Nan was kind of surreal.  I felt like I'd already met her since we're such good internet buddies.  Her Michael Clarke Duncan voice kind of threw me for a loop.  Just kidding.  She sounded just like I'd imagined, which is strange because it never works out like that.  (I'd really like to hear ChrisM's, Sam's, and KP's voices.)  But meeting Aaron was like meeting someone "for real" because we've just been casual acquaintances on the blog.  It's just now soaking in that I had an undefeated, course record setting, marathoner in my house chatting away like we picked up from last we left off on the blog.

I kind of forgot that we weren't going to be moved in to our new house yet when I told the Kennards to drop by.  It would have been another 20 miles for them to come to Queen Creek.  They planned on coming over for dinner Saturday night, but their flight was delayed three hours and threw a major monkey wrench in their plans.  So they came over this morning, and we got all the kids up to head over to the new house.  My wife made her world famous biscuits and gravy.  Nan brought some fruit and you probably can't see in the picture, but she brought (and ate) donut holes.  How does an undefeated marathoner eat donut holes??

Here's the Kennard crew, me, and Emily.  Emily loves the camera.  By the way, it's Ke'-nurd, not Kuh-nard'.  Who knew?

Nan can't take a bad picture.  You got to love her son's shirt.  It says, "MY MOM RULES."  His grandma gave it to him.  It says Alaska on the sleeve.  He told me.

And of course Nacho Libre dropped by unexpectedly.  He's da bessst.

My Garmin worked today!!  Nan needs to come to AZ more often.  The Suns win.  My Garmin works.  I ran today.  All is well with the world.

No splits because I forgot to set it up to record them.  But it was an 8:30 pace.  I'll pretend I ran an even smooth pace the whole time.

I had to move over all my computer and phone stuff to the new house this morning so COX could come and hook it all up.  So no running.  Sad to think I may have run my last regular runs in Queen Creek.  :(  manly frown.

Last night was our first night sleeping in the new house.  I was going to go running this morning, but everything is still in boxes, and by the time I found everything, I would have made my son late for school.  I don't think I'll make it out tonight either because it's date night.  I did a few pull-ups this morning.  At least that's something, right Lily?

I was having a dream last night that I was running a marathon with everyone from the blog, and I was videotaping it for a documentary.  I didn't want to wake up because I was having such a good time seeing everyone.

I think I know why Scott hasn't posted his race report yet.  I saw him trying to impress the ladies at the club the other night.  They didn't seem impressed with his fly moves.
