So I've got some friends on Facebook.  You know the kind that only accepted my friend request out of pity?  Oh, is that just me?  Anyway, I heard they were going on a group run this morning, so I invited myself.  I think they ditched me.  South Mountain is a big area, so maybe I just went to the wrong meeting location.  I'd like to think that, but just ask RAD.  I'm a creeper.

There was a sign at the beginning of the trail.  It said that we would be seeing a lot of little flags on the trail today.  They are to mark dog poop. I guess they're really trying to crack down on people cleaning up after their dogs.  You know, it's just not healthy for the environment.  I don't think they made it a quarter mile before they ran out of flags.  On the way back I counted them.  82.

Nice proper use of the plural form. Both of you.

Where's the dogpoop flag pictures? I'm intrigued.

heliocereus speciosus.

I was expecting a ridiculous amount of flags...and isn't that expensive?

From RAD on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 00:32:51 from 208.88.9.225

Sorry, Lucy and I headed up before you, guess we missed you. I grabbed all the 'flags' she left on the way back down :)

From Burt on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 01:22:51 from 24.121.213.70

April - the flags were little tiny things like 1" by 1" on little wires. I can just picture them gingerly placing them in the ground next to the poop.

allie - I was going to take a picture of some cactus flower, but these ladies were in the way. And they would have thought I was gay. (Let's see how many people I can offend with that.)

Other April - They weren't American flags.

RAD - You ditched me, too? Boo!

From PRE on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 17:30:19 from 99.50.214.225

Nice pictures Burt.

Quite a large number of flags on that run. I guess if you get through the first quarter mile, you begin to get the idea of what to expect ahead.

From Rye on Sun, Mar 20, 2011 at 22:56:02 from 174.27.118.104

No excuse not picking up after our canine friends. It was a long winter here in Idaho and after the snow melted I was left with lots of surprises.....I filled six five gallon buckets worth....Okay too much information, but I guess you did bring it up. Nice run!

From The Quiet Pirate on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 09:59:40 from 152.26.59.252

The photos are beautiful. I'm sure the run was amazing. You did say you ran, didn't you? I forgot after reading about the dog poop and flags.

From Burt on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 10:31:16 from 72.223.90.79

PRE - I used to hate this run, but my friend always dragged me out to run it with him. The funny thing is his dog used to poop along the road. He'd yell at her and just leave it.

Rye - When are you never TMI? LOL!

QP - Oh yeah, it was a run. Not only was it a run, but it was the first time I didn't have to stop on ANY of the steep hills. :)

From The Quiet Pirate on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 10:48:06 from 152.26.59.252

Glad to hear you didn't have to stop on any of the hills. Especially since they'd run out of flags. Way to hold it in the whole run!!

From Burt on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 11:42:34 from 72.223.90.79

Are you calling me a dog, QP? I'm flattered.

From The Quiet Pirate on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 12:29:25 from 152.26.59.252

Oh my, no. I know plenty of people who have to pop a squat while they're running. Yes, most are pirates, but we're still people too.

From The Quiet Pirate on Mon, Mar 21, 2011 at 12:38:30 from 152.26.59.252

perhaps she has a little pirate in her, no?
