Some day I'll run more than 3 miles.  Not today.

Right before I got to mile 1 I saw a vehicle in the median that needed to be pushed off to the side of the road.  There was one guy going to push and one guy inside steering.  I ran across two lanes of traffic to help out.  We waited for a break in the traffic and powered the vehicle across the street and on to a small side street.  I'm pretty sure I did most of the powering.  Now I was on the other side of Val Vista.  I've never run over there before.  It was uncharted territory for me.  It was all together both scary and somewhat exciting.  But it was over before I knew once I crossed the street at Southern.

When I was running down Southern I heard a skateboard on the other side of the road.  I remembered my rule #2:  If you're skateboarding on the other side of the street than me, then yes, we're racing.  Then I remembered my rule #1:  If you're fat and out of shape, then no, you're not racing ANYONE!

Those are good rules, I guess. oh and you're not fat, you're stumpy. That's what I told my sister once to make her feel good. She still never lets me live it down.

My friend's father called her husky. Now I do. I probably shouldn't.

my euphemism of choice is "jolly"

oh, and my dad used to call one of my sisters "large child". she didn't like it.

let's make a deal: put me on your list.

From Burt on Wed, Jan 09, 2013 at 16:10:21 from 71.216.109.214

That's one jolly, husky, stumpy kid on a skateboard.

And that sounds like a great deal.

From Tracy on Wed, Jan 09, 2013 at 17:41:34 from 50.103.229.241

If you were running while you were pushing the car, that should translate into at least 1 extra mile.

From Burt on Wed, Jan 09, 2013 at 18:19:35 from 71.216.109.214

I could use an extra mile to catch up with you on yearly mileage.

From PRE on Thu, Jan 10, 2013 at 18:57:41 from 99.50.213.11

Burt,

Were you injured for a while there? Are you recovered? Glad to see you got three in today...You have got to knock out a five miler if you are recovered! Be well.

From Burt on Fri, Jan 11, 2013 at 07:43:10 from 71.216.109.214

Yes PRE. I had some bulging discs. In my back.

From Lily on Fri, Jan 11, 2013 at 16:15:31 from 67.199.178.95

Bulging discs are no bueno Burt. Keep running tho.

From Burt on Fri, Jan 11, 2013 at 20:58:51 from 72.223.80.89

No bueno? Can someone translate that?

From allie on Fri, Jan 11, 2013 at 21:01:18 from 97.126.212.61

don't beans.

From Burt on Fri, Jan 11, 2013 at 21:03:31 from 72.223.80.89

That may have been the underlying cause of the bulging.

Go Burt, go Burt, go, go, go Burt.

Try to go for a run, think it's a good idea to help someone & end up on the wrong side of the road. Story of my life.

Except mine involves pirate ships, broken bikes, and the wrong side of the law.

I'm just glad you made it home without shaming that poor boy on the skateboard.

Stocky.
