Day 68 P90X - Legs and Back/Ab Ripper X - Sunday is my wife's birthday so we went to AMC to watch the Other Guys.  Pretty funny, but more swears than I've ever heard in a PG-13 movie.  We had popcorn and soda, and afterward went to In N Out for a burger, fries, and shake.  Let's just say I was dragging this workout.

Who names their dog Ginger?

From Chad on Fri, Sep 10, 2010 at 15:02:10 from 168.177.153.5

Ginger is a cat's name.

From Burt on Fri, Sep 10, 2010 at 15:14:12 from 206.19.214.144

If I must explain...

We have always struggled with naming our kids and pets. Every time I think of a name my wife doesn't like it. Every time she thinks of one I always know someone by that name and think we can't possibly name our kid/pet after that person. So I was just naming off random things. The Spice Girls came to mind. No. No. No. And double no. Then spices came to mind. Then Ginger. See? Total dog name.

up until this point i had assumed you had been trying to run with your cat and this explained the problems

you learn something every day

From ChrisM on Fri, Sep 10, 2010 at 15:23:45 from 86.178.234.5

and why couldn't you have run an extra 0.12 miles??

From allie on Fri, Sep 10, 2010 at 15:25:13 from 174.23.163.253

i agree. ginger is a cat's name. you should have gone with curry powder. or mustard seed.

From Burt on Fri, Sep 10, 2010 at 15:38:24 from 206.19.214.144

Chris - allie loves cats. And I can't run pi every day. I get dizzy.

allie - You're just mad because I made fun of a little old lady.

From RAD on Sat, Sep 11, 2010 at 14:24:26 from 67.172.229.125

hmmm, I like Ginger as a dog's name - totally going against the flow here today.

Nice work on that 6:33 mile, seriously flying in my book!

From Burt on Sat, Sep 11, 2010 at 15:01:53 from 68.225.214.248

Thanks RAD! (One exclamation point.) You're my favorite blogger for the day.

What happened on that middle mile? I didn't know you were in the mid-6s already, the P90X must be paying big dividends.

From Burt on Sat, Sep 11, 2010 at 21:09:32 from 68.225.214.248

I ran a 6:15 Wednesday. Hopefully in three weeks when I can focus more on running, I'll be as fast as allie. And I'll owe it all to P90X.

Thank you Scott for bringing this conversation full circle.

From flatlander on Mon, Sep 13, 2010 at 22:23:06 from 76.31.26.153

Just saw your 6:15, move my comment to that day, or something. Either way very fast.

From Burt on Mon, Sep 13, 2010 at 22:51:28 from 68.225.214.248

Thanks flat. I should mention also that I stopped and caught my breath for the 6:15 mile. For my 6:33 mile I had to keep running because this lady turned onto the street from a side street and I passed her just as I finished the mile. If I'd stopped, she would have thought I was weird. That always happens to me.
