Today was London's Run.  The last two years I've done the 10k.  The year before that I did the half marathon.  I decided not to do either this year because I'm still sore that they sent me the wrong way last year.  But I got an email from Ox a few days ago telling me he was running the half marathon.  I told him I would come run the last 5 miles with him.  He was hoping for a 7:30 pace.  He's not quite in the shape he was 3 years ago.  We ran about an 8 pace.  It was fun.  I saw some people I haven't seen in a while.  My friend David Weeks placed 3rd in his age division for the 10k.

In recent blogging news Nan Kennard (rhymes with Leonard) placed 3rd in the National Half Marathon Championships.  Go Nan!

In other other news April27 has been feeling like a slug lately.

From Burt on Sat, Jan 29, 2011 at 20:02:51 from 72.223.90.79

Dan - Ox's real name is Dan. He said he would have finished 10 minutes slower had I not run him in. I doubt it.

April - I actually made another picture of you back when you were talking about abstainin from candy. But you haven't mentioned that for a while so I changed it. Maybe I should send that one to your personal email. LOL!

Tracy - Oh, you like it? Ha! Now you're on my side!

Bonnie - I'm not sure if April or Tracy ever saw your picture. So, I hope you don't mind me sharing :) http://burt-mccumber.fastrunningblog.com/blog-12-21-2009.html

From Tracy on Sat, Jan 29, 2011 at 20:06:45 from 173.23.75.96

Bonnie's pic is pretty awesome.

I'm not sure liking the picture=being on your side. But you are entertaining.

From april27 on Sat, Jan 29, 2011 at 20:45:29 from 99.188.251.180

Karen-I wouldn't either. Very confusing!

Bonnie--so avatar like!

Burt-post! Maybe it will help me to stay away from the candy. So far so good on the soda stand point.

From Burt on Sat, Jan 29, 2011 at 20:46:30 from 72.223.90.79

Karen - right on her slimy butt.

Tracy - yep, you're on my side. LA LA LA LA, I can't hear you!

From Tracy on Sat, Jan 29, 2011 at 21:11:27 from 173.23.75.96

All right, I'm on your side. If you insist.

From april27 on Sun, Jan 30, 2011 at 21:32:52 from 99.188.251.180

Bonnie and Allie--you are all too sweet!

I am a happy slug. I realize now why I hated running for most of my life--mostly b/c everyone wants you to be fast. I justlike the miles.

Nicole--it is okay, Burt will get his one day!

From The Quiet Pirate on Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 12:24:26 from 152.26.59.252

Good friend helping out on the race course! I saw on tv that eating raw snails can give you a parasite called blood worms that will eat your brain matter slowly until you die.

So cook them first :-)

From RAD on Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 16:56:50 from 67.172.229.125

Nice work Burt! On the run and the pic :)

From Rye on Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 21:00:25 from 174.27.103.253

Your photo shop skills are amazing!

From auntieem on Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 21:22:43 from 98.247.176.184

A fast slug! Heeeeeheee. I live in the land of the slugs, the rainy Northwest. Trying to imagine the slug April speeding through the crazy cold and snowy weather she has been having!

From april27 on Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 21:40:01 from 99.188.251.180

Aunt--i swear if all this snowy/cold running doesn't make me a faster spring runner I am gonna go slug away some where!

From runningafterbabies on Mon, Jan 31, 2011 at 22:33:02 from 24.10.211.135

That pic is really creepy.

From Scott Wesemann on Tue, Feb 01, 2011 at 02:28:17 from 75.162.89.170

Nice miles there Burt. Looks like it might be time to break out another yoga Burt.
