Today I wore the same outfit that I wore when I ran Pat's Run (except for the shoes.)  I stepped outside and it felt a little cold for my liking - 37.4.  Luckily all the extra holiday weight helped me warm up pretty quickly.  I did a 0.2 mile warm up to the mailbox and back.  Then I stretched out.  I started running and my legs felt really good, so I decided to do a tempo run.  It was nice to do some speed work, since I haven't run that fast since the last 5k I did.

Time - 45:03 (avg. pace 8:03)

Mile 1 - 8:50

Mile 2 - 7:22 (6:18 best)

Mile 3 - 8:41

Mile 4 - 7:07 (6:25 best)

Mile 5 - 9:00

Last 0.59 - 4:04 (6:50 pace.  5:50 best)

Looks like a great run. It is always fun to run fast.

If Rhett says I'm fast, then it must be true.

Good work out Burt!

Thanks Camille. You too. I mean good work at getting that baby out.

Sometimes the anticipation of a planned tempo run is daunting, so it's cool that you were able to do an unanticipated tempo run.

Carolyn - I needed to shake things up. I haven't done anything other than get out and run. I think you need to mix it up some in order to get to the next level. That's what I hear anyway.

Lily - just trying to start the new year out on the right foot.

Toby - Thanks. I prefer to sweat in the great outdoors. There's less water damage that way.

Missy - It's 0.1 miles away, so there and back, lol. As for the shoe tracker, I had to ask Marion the same question. Let's see if I can remember...oh yes, it's all coming back to me. Go to your workout calendar. On the left hand side there is a button that says Shoe Manager. Click it. Blah blah blah. Wah wah wah. Voila! You're done!

Good job pushing the pace to give yourself a jumpstart.

From Merri on Mon, Jan 04, 2010 at 20:06:55 from 160.7.252.148

From Burt on Mon, Jan 04, 2010 at 20:23:24 from 206.19.214.144

Steve - maybe I'll lose 45 lbs this year like you did. Then I'll really be rockin!

Merri - I'm so glad you like it. I hoped you would.

From Lyman on Mon, Jan 04, 2010 at 20:33:28 from 75.169.110.63

45lbs would be a little much. Nice speed.
