This morning I was awakened by one of the lovely neighborhood dogs barking at 3:20am.  I couldn't get back to sleep.  I tried.  Oh boy did I try.  But to no avail.  Who lets their dog bark for an hour?  Probably a dead person.

I  got ready to go and had plenty of time to loosen up.  Yesterday morning as I was going to lift up the cats' dogs' water bottle, my back tightened up real bad.  I didn't even lift it yet.  It was like an electric shock went right in my lower back.  Maybe Merri was behind me with a tazer.  But it still hurts.  I stretched out real good but wasn't sure if I should run on it or not.  I didn't want to miss my run with Brad, though.  We always have such great conversations.

So I ran down to his house and took it nice and easy.  Brad doesn't run fast anyway so that's good.  We took the normal route.  When we ran by the magic water fountain the guy that sleeps on the bench was there checking his text messages.  We didn't stop.  When we got to my street I bid Brad farewell.  I was starting to get the "urge" again.

And finally, I was really impressed with seeaprilrun in her Houston marathon.  Her Garmin went out on her, but she was prepared with a back-up plan.

I know I'm gonna regret being the first person to comment on your post because it means my inbox will have 50 billion messages in it for all the replies. But I don't care. It's worth it because the line about the dog being a dead person's is just so funny.

From Merri on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 10:17:06 from 160.7.252.148

first I tazered your neighbor and pepper sprayed his dog...then tazered you. Yesterday Kamrie was singing this song....Praise to the man who commutes with Jehovah. just something to think about on your way to work.

From Burt on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 10:25:50 from 72.223.91.148

Well, if it isn't the sisters Grimm commenting on my blog first. You'll pay for your tazering antics. I'll see you in Vegas indeed.

Leandra Tew Call likes Merri Tew Hackett's comment.

Fact - the "urge" increases the closer you get to a toilet. It's science.

From Burt on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 12:23:04 from 206.19.214.144

I have much data to support that theory.

From julieesplin on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 12:52:46 from 75.169.169.44

Loved the "dead person" comment.

From Tara on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 13:54:48 from 75.169.159.217

Merri tazed you!! Ha ha ha ha! Dead person, Ha! I've been missing out. Great blog.

From Burt on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 14:18:10 from 206.19.214.144

You guys won't be laughing when they report about a dead person on Channel 5 news tonight.

From ACorn on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 14:32:41 from 68.66.168.22

Way to fight the "urge" to not run and get out and put the miles in!

From Burt on Mon, Aug 29, 2011 at 14:39:47 from 206.19.214.144

ACorn - Of course. The good Lord chose not to bless me with... with charm, athletic ability... or a fully functional brain, but I'll get my miles in.

Ok, everybody. I had to update my blog. There's just too much going on.

Burt,

You better run today or I will finish the month with more miles than you.

From Burt on Wed, Aug 31, 2011 at 10:12:58 from 72.223.91.148

Hula hoops and hourglasses. I don't know how you do it April. :)

AZDM - Not sure that's gonna happen. Enjoy your moral victory.

Hi Burt. I was going to comment on todays post but decided I don't want 48 messages in my inbox. Thanks for keeping us updated on bloggers in the news. Please never wish a running injury on yourself though. Its just not worth it.
