This morning I wanted to do at least 5 miles.  I started out pretty good, but after a while I started crashing.  I decided to stop at the magic water fountain and evaluate how much further I would run from there.  I saw the vagrant that lives there sitting on the bench.  Well, if I'm not afraid of a Harley Man, I'm not afraid of a vagrant.  I ran right up to the magic fountain, and this is how the conversation went:

Vagrant

     Good morning.

Me

     Good morning.  How are you?

Vagrant

Oh, I'm all right.  How about you?

Me

Pretty good.  (Slurp down some magic water.  Go over to the fence to stretch out some.)

Me

Nice that they put these water fountains in.

Vagrant

     Yes it is.

Me

(Finish stretching.)  Well, you have a good day.

Vagrant

     You do the same.

After that I decided that if I turned south on 32nd St. it would be close to 4.2 miles and that seemed appropriate since I was wearing my Pat Tillman race shirt.

Big Gulps huh? Well, see ya later.

From RAD on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 15:13:45 from 76.27.16.189

Glad the vagrant let you into his home to get a drink :)

From ACorn on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 15:21:35 from 68.66.168.22

Vagrant or is he the newly appointed protector of the fountain that is magical? Makes you wonder....

From Burt on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 15:21:51 from 72.223.91.148

Joe - Ha!

RAD - for all I know, he makes sweet love to the magic water fountain.

From DaleG on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 15:24:03 from 71.199.57.238

Joe....That's exactly what I was thinking

Burt....Nice run. How's the weather down there? Is it still really hot?

From Burt on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 15:24:27 from 72.223.91.148

ACorn - you commented 16 seconds before I did. Well, he didn't ask me any riddles or have me give him a password. I was a little worried that my sexy stretching might prompt his animal instincts.

From Burt on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 15:25:35 from 72.223.91.148

Dale - you commented 24 seconds before I did. The weather was good this morning. Low 70's. But it will be pushing triple digits this afternoon.

From DaleG on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 15:32:50 from 71.199.57.238

Blogging in real time makes it more fun. Sounds like perfect temps for running. It's really cooled down a lot up here and I like it.

From Chad on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 17:40:28 from 168.177.153.27

It's good he didn't ask for your favorite color and through you into a bottomless abyss if you got it wrong.

From Steam8 on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 19:05:46 from 166.70.55.77

Burt, we are the same....always taking the opportunity to talk to everyone during a run! Nice run by the way! I wish I could run! :(

From flatlander on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 19:53:31 from 76.31.26.153

Very deep. Is that him in your photo?

From Burt on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 20:01:06 from 68.14.209.26

Chad - He's a vagrant. Not a troll.

Steamer - Sorry. If it makes you feel better, I suck at running.

Flat - Yep. He's the one in the orange shirt. You can tell how malnourished he is by his knobby knees.

From Dan on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 20:02:25 from 24.209.83.20

Flat, your a vagrant? I thought you were a lawyer.

From flatlander on Thu, Sep 22, 2011 at 20:25:46 from 198.207.244.102

Dan, you can be anybody you want online. Not sure why I picked lawyer though.

From Calvin on Fri, Sep 23, 2011 at 01:41:53 from 66.182.67.64

I wonder what noun the vagrant used to describe you in his blog.

From Burt on Fri, Sep 23, 2011 at 15:41:02 from 68.14.209.26

Calvin - Maybe jock? Stud? Tool? Douche bag? I'm not sure. I'm not subscribed to his blog.

From JD on Fri, Sep 23, 2011 at 15:58:49 from 70.96.78.149

Is the vagrant fragrant.

From Burt on Fri, Sep 23, 2011 at 16:08:00 from 68.14.209.26

Oh yeah. Definitely. In a good way.
