This morning I saw double stroller lady.  She was actually running the same direction as I was.  When I caught up to her I thought for sure she had seen my shadow or heard my footsteps, but when I said good morning, she jumped a little.  I apologized and asked her if she was training for anything.  Nope.  Just trying to stay in shape?  Yep.  Well, good, have fun.  Then I continued on around my WalMart loop.  As I was coming back down Rittenhouse I thought I saw her again.  I figured she cut through Ocotillo, which would surprise me that she would be brave enough to run by the ogling day laborers at Circle K (at least I imagine that they would sit there and whistle at any woman running by.)  It turns out it wasn't her.  It was an Asian man, and it took me about a mile to run him down.  This time I hollered before I got to him so he would know I was coming up.  Good morning.  Good morning.  Training for anything.  Nope, just trying to stay in shape.  That's good.  You?  I have a couple of races I want to do.  Rock n' Roll?  No.  My wife wants to do the Rock n' Roll.  Full marathon?  Half, I told her she is going to have to do it by herself.  You can do it.  I don't think I can find time to train.  Good luck.  And I was off again.  Nice run this morning.

Time - 43:54 (avg. pace 8:12)

Splits -  8:12, 8:15, 8:19, 8:15, 8:05, (8:10 avg. for 0.34)

Pretty fast miles! I am sure that if I tried to talk to people while doing miles that fast, it would slow me down or sure.

For years, I ran with the double running stroller! I have such happy memories of those runs; my two were always so cheerful about jumping in and going for a ride. I'm certain that it made runners out of them too.

He is facebooking now from time to time. His wife said he's just to busy, but she thinks he'll be back once his life gets a little less hectic.

Nice social run Burt! I hardly ever see other runners. I wouldn't know what to do if I did...

Burt, were you wearing glasses? Asian man, lady pushing a double stroller, look very similar. That will my new standard answer: just trying to stay in shape, any shape - round, oblong, square, hex, pear or ship.

Nice consistant pace in the heat, run on, scared of the scales, Stay Kool, fatty shaped, B of BS Rools out

Lori - you're my inspiration for friend making.

April - Just don't get all shifty-eyed, throw your hands up, and run in the opposite direction. People will think you're crazy.

Brent - He was wayyyy down the road and he also had a white shirt on. Give a guy a break. LOL.

We need runners like you around here - most people don't even look at me when they go by me. Now, I'm also wondering if you need glasses... I mean, confusing an Asian man with a double-stroller lady... that doesn't sound right!

Nice run! Were you serious about not doing the Rock and Roll Half? I think you should totally do it. You are great shape already and isn't the race all they way in January?

From Burt on Tue, Sep 01, 2009 at 18:18:09 from 68.76.197.194

Ummm...it's on Sunday, Nan. The last time I did a race on the Sabbath I was out of commission for two months.

From Nan Kennard on Tue, Sep 01, 2009 at 18:25:54 from 174.51.250.151

Dang. Same problem I have in CO. Most of the big races are on Sunday here too.
