The wind picked up yesterday afternoon and hasn't let up.  Early this morning the power went out.  The best part was that my sister was in the bathroom.  I got my younger kids off to school and came back to go on my run.  It was 31°!  That wasn't going to stop me from running in shorts, althought I did wear a long-sleeved shirt.  I saw Lady Liberty as I was running down Val Vista, but then I saw her walk away.  As I ran by I spotted her waving at me from her car.  I hugged myself and shivered as if to say, "It's freakin' cold!"  She over-exaggeratedly shook her head in agreement.

You could only muster 3 miles?

From Burt on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 12:28:50 from 206.19.214.144

Shut up! I'm going to run some more later today. Okay????

From Scott Wesemann on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 12:34:39 from 66.239.250.209

Actually, I am really proud of your effort today, especially with that excruciatingly COLD weather.

What the heck, that is way too cold for shorts. You rebel.

From Burt on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 12:49:27 from 206.19.214.144

Lily - It was a very similar to that, yes.

Kelli - It warmed up to 39 by the time I was done.

Wow life is hard when it gets down to 31 degrees. LOL

From Burt on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 13:25:52 from 206.19.214.144

Shut down the Phoenix Metropolitan area! We can't function!

From Rhett on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 15:31:32 from 74.32.210.125

I hope you doubled up on the undies. Don't want to be freezing down in the man regions. :)

From Burt on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 17:04:21 from 206.19.214.144

I did notice some definite discomfort this morning.

From Lily on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 17:06:06 from 67.199.181.73

I've got your discomfort.

Now stop whining and enjoy the fact that you can run. I haven't had that luxury for almost 4 weeks.

From Burt on Wed, Feb 02, 2011 at 21:18:30 from 206.213.40.111

Poor Lily. :(

31 degrees sounds nice. This morning it was 2 here. In Tetonia, Idaho, where my sister lives, it was -30 this morning.

Burt, Sorry to hear about Emily and I hope she comes home soon.

Wow! 31 degrees in Phoenix? Really? The last time I was in Phoenix I felt like I was hit in the chest by the heat coming off the plane.

From The Quiet Pirate on Thu, Feb 03, 2011 at 10:08:00 from 152.26.59.252

31 degrees in shorts??? Burtsickle!

From Rye on Thu, Feb 03, 2011 at 16:47:43 from 71.209.59.65

I'm sorry.....31 degrees is nothing. Whimp!

From Burt on Thu, Feb 03, 2011 at 16:49:39 from 206.19.214.144

Don't hold back Rye. Tell me how you really feel. lol

From ChrisM on Thu, Feb 03, 2011 at 17:36:06 from 217.171.129.78

this is why centigrade is better system than fahrenheit; you would have been fine if it was 31C

From RAD on Thu, Feb 03, 2011 at 20:06:35 from 67.172.229.125

All of us here in the 'great freeze' would love 31 in the morning. I know Allie would be in shorts for sure! Nice job getting out anyway, and having a perfectly wordless conversation with the new lady :)
