The dogs woke up me up a little before 5am this morning.  That's a good thing, I guess.  It was 72° when I left at 5:45ish, but it was 90° when I finished at 6:30am.  There were a lot of people out riding bikes this morning.  I made sure to say good morning to them all.  Some of them were kids.  It seemed strange that kids were up so early and out riding their bikes somewhere.  They're probably drug dealers.  Although drug dealers wouldn't be caught dead in those polyester rags.

If I'm lucky tomorrow I'll be adding another blogger to the Bloggers I've Met in Real Life list...

Time - 48:45 (avg. pace 8:50)

Splits - 8:45, 8:42, 8:52, 8:45, 9:01, 4:40

90 degrees at 630am sounds brutal! The only time I've been to AZ in the "real" summer was a few years ago... one day it hit 120 degs, and I went running in the middle of the day just to prove that I "could" do it. Needless to say, I got delirious and LOST about 2 blocks from my parents' house!

From SlowJoe on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 10:58:09 from 132.3.53.68

That's a nice run. Hopefully you got some good drugs from the kids. The heat probably doesn't seem so bad when you're high.

From Burt on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 11:11:12 from 72.223.90.79

Jake - That's kinda funny. But kids, let's this be a lesson to you. Never go running when it's hotter than 115°!

Joe - I get high on running.

From Lily on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 12:31:18 from 67.199.178.210

Well I can assure you it's not me.....ahem. Although, I will be in page,az on Sunday. Sinning in the water. And will be there all next week. come on up, the water is great.

From Burt on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 12:32:54 from 206.19.214.144

Page is not big enough for the two of us.

From bye-wing on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 12:41:46 from 101.109.2.125

That summer heat in Arizona is good incentive to get up and out early.

By the way, how is your knee doing?

From Burt on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 12:44:34 from 206.19.214.144

The soft bed is good incentive to not get out at all. Haha! The knee felt great. No problems at all. The rest seems have helped. Now I have to work off all the weight I gained from Father's Day.

From Rob on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 12:44:41 from 206.71.84.68

Wow Lily, I'm trying to imagine what sins you could be possibly be committing in the water. Maybe I don't want to know.

From Burt on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 12:45:53 from 206.19.214.144

Probably unauthorized baptisms.

From Lily on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 12:49:55 from 67.199.178.210

What in the world? Ha, just boating on the water is all Rob. ha ha. No worries here.

From flatlander on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:22:58 from 198.207.244.102

So you're making us wait until tomorrow?

From Burt on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:30:38 from 206.19.214.144

Of course I am Flat. I'm all about drama. BTW, you need to read my Saturday post.

From RAD on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:33:41 from 98.202.17.113

I know that I live in the desert and not the humidity, so maybe it's just perspective. But, I would take running in 100+ weather any day over running in 85 and 90+% humidity! Humidity is a KILLER!!

I must say (just because it's Burt) I finally for ONCE in the past many months beat your mileage and pace. A rarity for me! :) I also was running in cool sub 60 temps too though. Almost needed a long sleeve shirt!

Just say NO to drugs - go for a NATURAL high (high, high, high...when you are feeling down low *boom, boom, boom*)

From Burt on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:38:02 from 206.19.214.144

You were 4 seconds per mile faster than me! Stinker! But, props, you did run longer.

From The Quiet Pirate on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:43:01 from 70.63.105.250

RAD went faster and longer? Hhmmmm.

The kids are up because they're just riding home from their all-night raves where they're getting & dealin the drugs. It's because they don't have positive recreational activities like Hollerin' to keep them out of trouble.

Your heat is miserable so early in the day. Good motivation to get up with the dogs and druggies.

From Burt on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:50:22 from 206.19.214.144

Well, I guess I shoudn't be mad that my son was up all night playing video games.

From RAD on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:52:59 from 98.202.17.113

I've been told you can smell me from miles away :) Some say it's because I'm spoiled rotten, but to you maybe I just stink!

oh, QP: *cha-ching*

From The Quiet Pirate on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:54:57 from 70.63.105.250

Rad: "High Five!"

From Burt on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:56:20 from 206.19.214.144

Would you two knock it off? This is the first time Jake K has come to my blog, and now he's never gonna come back!

From The Quiet Pirate on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 15:58:45 from 70.63.105.250

Jake needs to know what he's getting into here. Is that why you haven't mentioned poop yet today?

Trying to impress the "new guy?"

From ChrisM on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 16:02:19 from 86.10.81.85

hey Burt--fancy a go in this chamber of fun?

see you tomorrow, burt.

From Nan on Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 23:51:45 from 98.245.117.176

Polyester rocks. I wish more companies made polyester pants.

RAD-High five! Are you a Safety Kid too? My kids totally listen to Brite Music...I was raised on it and wouldn't want to rob them of the joy.

From RAD on Wed, Jun 22, 2011 at 01:31:35 from 98.202.17.113

Nan, oh I was THE safety kid! Our elementary school did the play and I was Monique :) I know every line of that CD forwards and backwards and we listen to it on long car trips. Probably things I shouldn't admit to :)

From bye-wing on Wed, Jun 22, 2011 at 13:45:42 from 58.137.139.10

Burt: glad the knee is better. Good luck running off those Father's Day calories.

Jake: Hello.

Nan: I can get you a polyester running suit, what color do you want?

RAD: Way to go, outrunning Burt. And, by the way- you are spoiled rotten :)

QP:Does hollerin' really burn more calories than running?

Burt: Sorry, I got a bit long winded there.
