Recovery run.  It was kind of cold.  My ankles and shins were tight.  I saw this fat guy out running.  (I'm allowed to say that for obvious reasons.)  We both got to the intersection at the same time.  I had to wait for the light to turn green, and he got to keep going.  Under my breath I said, "I'm coming for you buddy."  I couldn't catch him, but I think I made some ground up on him.

Time - 48:59 (avg. pace 8:45)

Splits - 8:42, 8:39, 8:45, 8:31, 8:57, 5:26 (9:05 pace)

Temp - 55

I was fortunate enough to see April finish her first marathon at the Wichita HHM.  What she didn't tell anyone, because she's so modest and humble, is that you had to hula hoop the entire 26.2 miles.  I snapped this picture of her coming in to the finish.

You're racking them up this week. Isn't it funny how older guys never lose the competitive instinct, we just hide it better? Of course, "older" only refers to me.

Nice recovery after such a long run yesterday. Do we get to keep our Halloween nicknames all week long? I think I may go by Dr. Rat at work.

LOL!

I bet you wished you had run 0.15 miles more!

Flatliner - A wise poet once said, "Glory days, they'll pass you by, glory days, in the blink of a young girl's eye."

Dr. Rat - yep, all week.

Chris Munster - That's right you sorry punk. But the day's not over.

LOL Well Burt I wasn't going to tell anyone about that because I was afraid people would make fun of me. Really, if I could hula-hoop that good then I would quit my job and go work at the circus. Nice run, it was good to see you.

From Burt on Tue, Oct 27, 2009 at 14:28:59 from 68.76.197.194

Munster - I think my poet is a little more contemporary.

RIP - did you get more points for using multiple hula hoops? LOL!
