Impressive second mile and good luck in your races next week!

From auntieem on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 13:03:18 from 98.247.176.184

Good luck next week! What is an Open Mile? Do you have some sort of indoor track club?

From Stacie on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 13:07:16 from 174.52.21.251

Faster than a speeding bullet! You amaze me. I need to do speed work if I want to run Boston someday.

From Burt on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 13:07:53 from 206.19.214.144

Rossy - thanks. I think I can break another 6 minute mile. I hope.

auntie - the Open Mile is just a mile that we run around the Scottsdale Community College track. It's sponsored by the Arizona Road Racers. You run one mile and after the last person finishes you wait 10 minutes and run another.

From Burt on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 13:19:19 from 206.19.214.144

Stacie - I run 6 minute miles tops. A speeding bullet can range from 6.6 seconds per mile to 1.3 seconds per mile.

From Steve Piccolo on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 14:21:49 from 155.100.99.22

Nice first and third mile!! (they were getting jealous with everyone praising the middle mile)

From allie on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 16:37:26 from 174.23.238.75

next ARR open mile: 5:55.

From Burt on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 16:39:52 from 206.19.214.144

Sam - your high fives sting!

Joe - thanks. They're my yang. You're my yin.

From Burt on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 16:40:27 from 206.19.214.144

allie! You think so? I'm doing it just for you.

From allie on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 16:55:37 from 174.23.238.75

yes, i think so. 6:11 in a training run? yes, i think so.

From Burt on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 17:06:01 from 206.19.214.144

I like how you stated your thesis, presented your argument, then restated your thesis.

From Scott Ensign on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 17:11:52 from 129.123.3.31

nice job. I will see Allie's 5:55 and lower you to 5:50.

From rAtTLeTrAp on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 17:23:02 from 72.102.93.239

5:51

From SlowJoe on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 17:26:05 from 214.13.130.104

Maybe we can turn this race into a mini-Vegas, I'll be the bookie and set the odds.

The over/under is 5:52.5

sub 5:50 - 2:1

over 6:00 - 2:1

sub 5:40 - 4:1

Burt pulls a hammy - 6:1

sub 5:30 - 10:1

Race cancelled for snow - 100:1

Place your bets!

From Burt on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 17:34:29 from 206.19.214.144

The odds on the hammy pull need to be lowered. That's almost a sure thing.

From julieesplin on Fri, Nov 12, 2010 at 19:27:23 from 75.169.171.160

I'm guessing 5:54 with a few dry-heaves the last 100 meters and some throw-up at the end.

From beef on Sat, Nov 13, 2010 at 09:58:00 from 72.44.96.196

How long is the mud run? I've always wanted to try one. I hope you'll post pictures!

From PRE on Sat, Nov 13, 2010 at 15:33:18 from 99.50.214.225

Burt,

Good luck with those three races. I will be watching for the results. Hoping you smash six to pieces. 5:57 is my guess. My best mile is 7:24. Your 6:11 amazes me!

Since you got back into running, what is your best mile? I see during September of this year you ran a 5:58 AAR Open mile. So let me take the 5:57 off the shelf and go with 5:52!!!

Good luck again.

From Merri on Sat, Nov 13, 2010 at 23:13:55 from 160.7.252.148

you're a busy bitty. But, it's alright to be little bitty

Little hometown or a big old city

Might as well share, might as well smile

Life goes on for a little bitty while

From runningafterbabies on Sun, Nov 14, 2010 at 09:45:48 from 24.10.211.135

Ok Burt. It's time for a sub 5:58 and a sub-22. I can feel some post high school PRs comin' for you!

From Burt on Wed, Nov 17, 2010 at 13:23:28 from 206.19.214.144

beef - the mud run is 4 miles. It's with a team. I think we have to run together.
