Late blogging today.  And I'm up a couple of pounds.  Shouldn't have ate that tuna melt at Quizno's yesterday.  And the chicken noodle soup.  And the 2 16 oz. cups of diet cranberry/grapefruit juice or whatever it was.  But what a deal!  A real value.

Time: 46:41 (avg. pace 8:17)

Splits: 7:59, 7:57, 8:18, 8:35, 8:30, 5:23 (8:26)

Weight: 202.00

That sounds like a good lunch to me?!? I must suck at eating right. Nice splits, look at that 5!!!!

From Marion on Thu, Feb 05, 2009 at 23:13:46

Eating is important and it sounds like a really tasty lunch ;) great paces :) WOW!!

Nice profile picture. You make running look effortless.

From Burt on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 10:02:40

Kelli - The 5 was for the last 0.64 miles which was actually an 8:26 average. I'm not that fast anymore. But apparently you are. I saw you had a sub 6 the other day.

Marion - It didn't feel like I was running too hard, but the extra 20 lbs. I'm not carrying around anymore sure makes a difference.

Mike - I just couldn't let that girl pass me, and I had to do it with style.

From Marion on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 11:44:25

That's good to know. I need a carrot to dangle in front of me to help motivate me for these last 20 lbs. (It's a chocolate carrot, just to clarify ;)

From Kelli on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 16:55:29

Oh, I thought you HIT that pace somewhere in your last mile. I see, but you are still fast!

I have never run a mile sub-6, I was just listing my fastest pace during each mile. It looked more impressive than the mile splits did! Can you believe people (like Walter) can actually run entire marathons that fast? I can maintain it for about, oh, I dunno, 5 seconds?!?

From Eric Day on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 17:09:07

Burt, good work. What is your next goal? Will you put in more distance?

From Burt on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 17:17:59

Kelli - You had mentioned hills, so I thought you were running downhill or something.

Eric - I do plan on putting in more miles. I'll be doing 10 tomorrow with a great big hill at the start, then we end up at Camille's house for breakfast. Next Sat. I'm signed up to do a 5k. Then at the end of the month is the Ragnar Del Sol relay. After that I want to start putting in the miles so I can run a good marathon towards the end of the year.

From Eric Day on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 17:23:46

Super Burt. I'm also aiming to run a full marathon in October, but have to wait and see if my body agrees with the Mind and it's plan.

Looking for a PR in the 5k?

From Kelli on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 17:25:09

We were sprinting UP the hills and recovering DOWN the hills, so I can guarantee you that the super speed (sub 6) was actually up a hill (for maybe 5 seconds). I am AMAZING, now that I think about it.

From Burt on Fri, Feb 06, 2009 at 17:28:17

Eric - the way I've been running lately, I should have no problem getting a post HS PR.

Kelli - you are. You really are.

Burt, great training, and sounds like a nice lunch, with training must be ok to treat yourself, I treat myself at weekends!

Went the creperie today, most enjoyable!

keep the good work up
