I was running late today, so I'm finally blogging for real.  I didn't get to work until 9:30am because I had to take my boy to his comedy class at Jester'z.  The other reason it took me so long to blog is because I saw a dead lizard lying on its back on my run.  I figured it was a bad omen that maybe Eric Day would die today.  I didn't want to say anything in case it really happened.  I could never live with myself.

Time - 1:06:44 (8:50 avg.)

Splits - 8:23, 8:35, 8:46, 8:52, 8:53 , 8:52, 9:19, 5:05 (9:11 avg.)

Temp - 88

It was a little cooler today because of the monsoons.  At about mile 4.9 the sun peeked out from behind the clouds.  I thought to myself, "These last 2.6 miles are going to stink."  But after a couple 100 yards it slipped back again.  Then with a mile to go it reared its shiny face again, this time as I was running directly into it.  The coolest part of the run was when I crossed Queen Creek Wash.  I saw this big ol' squirrel scurry across a path.  Then as if tagged in by the squirrel, a bunny rabbit hopped the other way.  Right on cue after the rabbit a family of quail followed the path of the squirrel.

Slowed it down a bit today? You are still pretty speedy.

Lori - Yeah. I don't like to push myself in the heat.

Mike - The day off did me a lot of good.

Sam - I'm ok. Just didn't have time to blog today. It's updated now. :)

Auntie Em - you aren't going to shut me up that easily.

ha ha so did the quail tag you? That's a great run and great pace.

From Burt on Thu, Jul 23, 2009 at 12:46:57 from 68.76.197.194

Sorry Eric. But I did see two smaller lizards together. So I figured you'd get killed in a car crash, but your kids would live on.

Leandra - come to think of it, I guess you could say that. Except I was up on the bridge.

Way to run. Thx for making sure Eric Day didn't die.

From Eric Day on Thu, Jul 23, 2009 at 19:00:37 from 189.192.209.11

I'm too young to die. Only Master "A" yet, still lots of letters in the alphabet to go through...

From Kelli on Sat, Jul 25, 2009 at 16:26:19 from 71.219.89.21

First, I am glad Eric did not die. Second, comedy class??? I have never heard of that. How does that go? What do they teach?

From Burt on Sat, Jul 25, 2009 at 21:08:49 from 98.167.151.26

The comedy class was a one week "camp" where they taught them the secrets to improv. At the end of the week the students performed live or "improv-ed". I didn't see the entire show, but they recorded it, and we should be getting a DVD or tape. http://www.jesterzimprov.com/haha/Home.html
