I was hoping to get more miles in today, but it's so hot and uncomfortably humid.  I downed a Gatorade before I left and I think that caused me to have cramps.  But my back felt great.

Time - 1:13:08 (avg. pace 9:09)

Temp - 82

Humidity - 10,000%

Dang it! I just looked at the mileage board and saw that I'm 0.11 miles from being on the front page. But since I did 8.00 flat, I'm on the second page. That's not the bad part. Leslie Peterson also did 8 miles and she's ahead of me for first position on the second page. Curse you Leslie!!! Can I go out and run another couple hundred yards? Yes. Will I? No. That would be too easy and I wouldn't get to cry.

Looks humid!

Don't worry about going out again

Just use it to motivate you next time, and think how good it'll feel being on the first page when you do make it

thanks for the note! I actually am trying to 2 hrs in Oct. My first was not 2 hrs- don't I wish:) I think I will likely get to 2:15 but 2 hrs is a bit ambitious- aim high, right? :)

From Leandra on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 12:22:16 from 67.41.234.57

ugh, I hate 10,000% humidity.

PS we saw your twin at Hobble Creek on Saturday. Not kidding.

From Burt on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 12:26:29 from 68.76.197.194

Well according to Merri, my twin is Tim Allen. So, did you freeze up when you saw my lookalike or did you just point and scoff?

From Rhett on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 12:28:50 from 74.41.249.102

Nice run Burt. Looks like we did the same distance today. Watch out. Soon I'll be matching your miles. The humidity was horrible today wasn't it, but it was only 74 here this morning. :)

From Burt on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 12:34:24 from 68.76.197.194

You did 8 Rhett? You're coming back nicely. That's good news. That means I can still throw an FRB party at your house for the Havasu Half next year.

From Leandra on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 13:07:45 from 67.41.234.57

I have never wished I had a camera so bad in my entire life. it was you! I always see Merri's twin at Golds Gym and wish I had a camera there too.

That would be weird taking photos at the gym LOL LOL LOL

No bunnies today Burt????

From Burt on Mon, Aug 24, 2009 at 14:04:46 from 68.76.197.194

I agree with Sam. You might get arrested or beat up for taking pictures of strangers.

Sam - Lots of bunnies. I usually see them in the grassy common areas around my subdivision in the late afternoon. Maybe they come out then right before the coyotes come out then come out early in the morning after the coyotes have gone home.

From Merri on Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 16:59:39 from 67.199.179.247

whew that is humid!

From ChromeDome on Tue, Aug 25, 2009 at 21:29:10 from 67.164.165.221

Burt, has it been brutally humid all summer where you are?

I read an article today that said higher humidity in the US Southwest is a trend resulting from higher global temps overall. I always equate global warming with dryness, but apparently water vapor in the atmosphere is a key part of the warming effect...

OK, END NERD DIGRESSION

From Merri on Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 17:45:22 from 67.199.179.247

One time I saw burt on the provo canyon trail. and you all know what Leandra says happens on the provo river trail.

From Merri on Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 17:48:24 from 67.199.179.247

Oh and count me in for the FRB party at Rhett's for the Havasu half. :) jk

From Burt on Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 17:54:52 from 68.76.197.194

Shut up Merri. Besides. There's a waiting list to get into the exclusive VIP FRB party. Hmmm...I don't see your name on it. Anywhere. Oh, here it is, right under the "Toss out on rear if they try to sneak in" section.
