AM Workout

Start Time - 4:30am

Temp - 40°

Distance - 3.01 miles

Time - 26:27 (avg. pace 8:46)

Splits - 8:58, 8:38, 8:38

I'm not going to lie and say that it wasn't a bit spooky running on the canal bank in the dark.

PM Workout

Start Time - 6pm

Temp - 52°

Distance - 3.03

Time - 25:21 (avg. pace 8:23)

Splits -  8:41, 8:16, 8:10

It felt so good running in my new shoes tonight.  I saw two guys dressed up like the Statue of Liberty on the corner of Val Vista and Southern.  As I ran by them I yelled, "Good evening ladies!"  There were a lot of flags at half mast today.  Was that just an AZ thing?  When I got home my wife asked what my splits were, so I told her.  She said it looked like I was doing a 7 min. pace based on the amount of sweat.  I said it was the correct amount of sweat for an 8:23 pace.

nice double, mr. burt.

flags are half mast here as well. prayers to everyone in AZ.

From RAD on Mon, Jan 10, 2011 at 22:23:22 from 67.172.229.125

Trying to put all the rest of us to shame for not hitting doubles in the winter, huh? Well, I'll take my shame! :)

Obama ordered all flags half mast through the 14th (I believe) in honor of those that died in AZ. An unnecessary tragedy of epic porportions if you ask me (not that you did).

nice job on the double!!!

From Brent on Mon, Jan 10, 2011 at 22:53:39 from 66.7.127.219

Burt, you may need that speed telling them good morning ladies, what happened to the little china women? Don't mess with Liberty. Canal banks - save you money and cat fish - good consistent training.

Stay Kool, B of BS rools out

You missed an epic moment to "Good Game" the "ladies"...

From DonGardinero on Tue, Jan 11, 2011 at 01:34:53 from 67.2.94.44

I saw Uncle Sam AND the Statue of Libery today. Nice double. Now tomorrow, do a triple.

From Burt on Tue, Jan 11, 2011 at 01:36:39 from 72.223.84.236

allie - that's the nicest thing you've ever said... and you've said some nice things.

RAD - I didn't ask you, but I value your opinion above all others.

Cari - thanks. I'm going to give these double things a shot for a while. I figure they're good Ragnar training.

Brent - come to think of it, I should have called them cross dressing freaks.

Karen - Oh man!!!!!! I blew it. If I could turn back time...

Scott - I had to go to work early today. And my wife didn't believe that I would get up that early to go running so I had to prove her wrong.

From Burt on Tue, Jan 11, 2011 at 01:40:46 from 72.223.84.236

Dale - Can part of that triple be the consumption of a 32 oz. root beer float?

From DonGardinero on Tue, Jan 11, 2011 at 01:55:27 from 67.2.94.44

Yes....Mmmmmm, that sounds so good right now.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Jan 11, 2011 at 02:04:00 from 109.70.68.174

Even if you really didn't want to get up at 4am, you definitely had to commit once your wife said she didn't believe you. Way to score the victory!
