AM Run

Guess who initiated the high five this morning...?  Oh yeah.  She wants me.

Time - 25:27 (avg. pace 8:23)

Splits - 8:28, 8:15, 8:25, 0:19

PM Run

This run was at 9:30pm.  I saw another runner.  I guess I'm not the only creepy dude on the block.  Then I saw a guy walking.  He was very well versed in the art of "on your left!"  In the blink of an eye he stepped all the way off the sidewalk and yielded me the right-of-way.

Time - 30:00 (avg. pace 8:44)

Splits - 8:53, 8:35, 8:41, 3:52

I was looking uber-cute in my white Running 4 Nie shirt this morning.

From RAD on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 15:02:54 from 67.172.229.125

well, okay then maybe she does.

From seeaprilrun on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 17:18:56 from 68.103.248.137

She definitely wants you. It took her this long to muster up the courage to initiate the high-5 though...she's a little shy.

From Scott Wesemann on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 17:44:04 from 66.239.250.209

All the ladies want you Burt. Duh!

From Burt on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 19:00:35 from 206.19.214.144

April - I'll try to get a picture with her tomorrow.

Scott - and most of the men, too.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 19:10:01 from 71.219.84.215

She wants me was all I needed to read today.

Hi Burt. Hope all is well, sounds like it is. What runner are you in Ragnar? Just hoping we will get a chance to race.

From Burt on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 19:36:25 from 206.19.214.144

Mikelle - I want to be runner #3, but I have a dilemma. That Saturday is child of record baptisms in my stake. I have a child that turns 8 in Feb. I told her she would have to wait 'til Mar. She threw a guilt trip on me. Can you believe that? An 8 year old that knows how to throw guilt trips? "I'm more important than a race." The problem with me being runner #3 is that puts me finishing my last run at around 9:30am assuming we get our 8am start time. The baptismal ceremony starts at 10am. No good. But my bishop is running Ragnar, so I'm going to talk him into having a separate ceremony for my daughter. He should understand, right?

From RAD on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 20:07:52 from 67.172.229.125

Burt, should I refer you to the handbook myself? Members should not ask for exceptions to be made to the preset dates for stake or ward baptisms. That was me with my primary president hat on, now I'll take it off and tell you (as a runner) that if the bishop is running he'll understand and it shouldn't be a problem. Just don't get too upset if you get the handbook pulled on you - it's been the case many times lately in my stake!

From Burt on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 20:30:19 from 206.19.214.144

Didn't they recently update the handbook? What about the fact that grandma can't make it because she's an accountant and it's in the middle of tax season and she'll lose some clients if she takes off that particular date?

From Burt on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 20:33:11 from 206.19.214.144

I suppose I could quit paying my tithing for a few weeks, and use the excuse of worthiness. What would Bishop Rhett think?

From Burt on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 20:40:54 from 206.19.214.144

To answer your question Kelli, I want to be runner #3, but I may have to switch with runner #1 or even switch vans to make it work.

From Brent on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 21:34:04 from 66.7.127.219

Burt, now, the daze of running, lady or dude liberty, enjoy the day dreaming. Burt, have you chosen the easy or hard legs, not lady or dude liberty, I mean the Ragar race legs. My team for the lake to lake is having some debat over the legs, just give me the uphill legs.

Good luck, runners have great legs, B of BS Rools ut

From april27 on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 21:50:14 from 99.188.251.180

hmmm some bns! yum! I can totally see why she wants you!

From Burt on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 22:04:40 from 72.223.84.236

Brent - there would be no debate between us. I love the downhill.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 22:39:00 from 71.219.84.215

That is an interesting little quandary you have on your hands!!! I think that you should just let me run your leg for you, and then you will only have to run 2 of them! Either way, I am sure we will see you somewhere as we are both Van #1 and Van #2! I am runner # 5 and 6.

Good luck, throw the handbook out but keep paying your tithing. BAD things happen when you do not follow those basic principles. BAD.

From ben on Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 22:47:55 from 4.254.237.41

Burt... Secretly we all want you for one reason or another!?!?

From Karen on Thu, Jan 27, 2011 at 01:00:15 from 69.171.160.108

I went to the comments before even looking to see what you RAN today! For the record, Lady Liberty usually has one hand up holding that torch thingy...HMMM...when relays and baptisms combine...sure there is a "good game" moment in there somewhere...

From Nan on Thu, Jan 27, 2011 at 09:25:50 from 98.245.117.176

The clear solution is to simply change your daughter's birth certificate. "Actually, sweetie you were born in 2004, not 2003. The state department printed it wrong." Problem solved. Until next year...

From The Quiet Pirate on Thu, Jan 27, 2011 at 13:18:57 from 152.26.59.252

Is there a lake near the end of the race? You can do the baptism there!

I wish I had sidewalks. They haven't been invented out here yet.
