Nice work out! Did you hit puke pace?

From Metcalf Running on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 13:08:09 from 207.225.192.66

Obtaining speed? you are already speedy!

From Burt on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 13:10:15 from 68.76.197.194

When you live off a diet of root beer floats and chili dogs, you never hit puke pace. LOL.

Yeah right Lori. I checked my Garmin and my max speed was 4:59. 4:59. I used to be able to run an entire mile that fast. Now it's just the speed I can barely get to when I run my fastest.

From Metcalf Running on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 13:17:48 from 207.225.192.66

Burt... you will get no simpathy from this 9mm pace gal... only in my dreams will I ever be able to run at your pace. Even for one mile LOL

From RivertonPaul on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 13:21:13 from 67.42.27.114

Nice repeats. Good job.

From Nevels on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 13:24:20 from 131.204.15.93

It seems to me that a diet of root beer floats and chili dogs would be the ideal way to make attaining puke pace easier, especially when partaken within an hour or so of a workout.

I know everyone will just be itching to try it.....

From Burt on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 14:01:43 from 68.76.197.194

You've seen the structural integrity of my innards, Nevels.

From montelepsy on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 15:52:03 from 155.85.58.253

Dang Burt! Look at your first repeat. Smoking.

From Burt on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 17:55:52 from 68.76.197.194

Well, again, I started out way too fast. And that first one would've been faster, but I turned the corner and saw one of my old lady regulars, and figured if I kept up at the pace I was at, I would end up finishing the 1/2 mile right about where she was. She would be wondering why I was running at a full sprint and stopping right when I got to her, so I slowed down some before.

From Teena on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 21:28:11 from 67.177.20.13

Nice job there Burt!!!

You were burning it up!!! :)

From Nevels on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 21:32:44 from 131.204.15.93

Ah yes, a fellow cast-iron stomach owner. Kudos to you and to all with ferric fermenters for stomachs.

From James W on Wed, May 13, 2009 at 21:58:41 from 70.190.199.29

Hey Burt, nice workout. I haven't been able to run since Monday (sick), but I was looking at the ARR race calendar today, and found another marathon in the vicinity on November 21 (Saturday!). It's the Mesquite marathon. I may even have to try that one out next year - it looks pretty good. http://www.mammothmarathons.org/m/m.html

It's only $55.

From sam on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 05:18:29 from 78.32.130.9

Loving the workout, 50 sit ups eh! great

and the plank doing well....

The Workout, hmmmm

im going to nit pick, hahaha

first half/m should have been slower (so my coach would have said naughty boy)

so then your 2nd one and 3rd should have been faster _me doing an impersonation of my coach LOL.

thats a good work out, well done.... first one is at 6 mile pace excellent your banging on the door on your old speed :-)

From sam on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 05:19:27 from 78.32.130.9

in my case, if it were me he was telling off it wouldve been naughty girl! even though im well old! LOL

From Burt on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 10:37:58 from 68.76.197.194

James - that doesn't look half bad. The hills in the middle worry me. It's the week before Thanksgiving. It seems like it would have to go through the Virgin River Gorge. I'll think about it.

Sam - what are you like 27? Well old indeed!

From britta on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 10:55:56 from 66.74.232.169

Is it getting crazy hot there yet?

From Burt on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 11:02:52 from 68.76.197.194

It's not too bad in the mornings. But it warms up to over 100 midday. But that's a good thing. It will melt the fat off me. :)

From Merri on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 11:25:03 from 207.88.76.69

Old lady regular would have loved to have you sprinting to her.

From Burt on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 11:29:59 from 68.76.197.194

I'm sure she would have... Half the time she wears a surgical mask to protect her from, my guess is the germs of guys like me, so there's probably nothing she would have loved more.

From Rhett on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 12:12:22 from 170.215.58.122

I have run that marathon before when they used to call it the TriState Marathon. I guess they have brought it back. It is a brutal course. It was my first marathon and I almost died. I'd like to give it another go. Maybe I will.

The first 16 miles are great, typical UT marathon coming down out of the mountain, then you start running along the old highway paralleling I-15 and there are some mamoth hills over the last 8 miles or so. I thought I was going to die and swore I would never run another marathon.

From Michelle N. on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 12:18:46 from 75.162.247.175

Holy moly Big Burt:) Nice runnin'!

From britta on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 15:25:27 from 66.74.232.169

Like butta....? I need something to melt the fat off me!

From Burt on Thu, May 14, 2009 at 16:34:35 from 68.76.197.194

How about a hot guy running on the beach? Maybe David Hasselhoff? That could work.

From sam on Fri, May 15, 2009 at 07:07:30 from 78.32.130.9

No older than that LOL im 32!

Which Garmin Ya got, I think they are really cool!

From Burt on Fri, May 15, 2009 at 15:00:33 from 98.167.151.26

I have the 205.

From sam on Fri, May 15, 2009 at 15:36:45 from 90.210.160.157

cool I love my garmin, bit of a gadget women really, its great to able to download information and analize it, especially after a race....

From seeaprilrun on Fri, May 15, 2009 at 21:42:15 from 68.102.144.140

Well ya still got some speed--someday you will run that 4:59 mile again! :) C'mon, you know you've thought about it! I say go for it! Burt cracks the 5 minute mile again after post highschool hiatus...

From Bonnie on Fri, May 15, 2009 at 22:09:43 from 128.196.228.134

Control Burt ... control. I think that first 800 cost you about 10-15/secs on the other two laps. Slow it down and do more of them, I would bet you could get them down to below 6 min pace in a month. Especially if you knew you had a big root beer float waiting for you afterward. I need to start running again ... a 20 miler and I can get another root beer float ... or an Egees (?) I have heard they are good? Or at least a Tucson institution?

I have been loving the mornings lately. Very pretty.

From sam on Sat, May 16, 2009 at 05:50:49 from 90.208.239.172

Hey Burt, you not running last few days???

From Burt on Sun, May 17, 2009 at 20:36:43 from 98.167.151.26

Little running. Less blogging. By I did race yesterday. I'll blog about it in a bit.
